Former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson was victorious Saturday night at "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II," defeating Gesias Cavalcante by unanimous decision, but it didn't come easy.
Thomson said, via Sherdog.com, this was the worst training camp of his 22-fight career.
"This was the worst camp ever. I had ankle injuries, a partially torn MCL and hand and wrist problems. I'm not going to go on a vacation, but I'll probably take a month to get healed up. I've never lifted weights in my life. I think maybe I need to start, so I'm holding my joints and ligaments together a little better. Things are breaking on me, I think, because I train too much."
With the win, Thomson might've earned a third fight with Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez.
