Dana White Actually Met With James Toney About Fighting In The UFC

Here's the video of the meeting:

I think it's absolutely retarded that White would actually ask Toney those questions about has he ever been kicked in the leg, and can he check a kick etc.  Just take that dude and put him in a cage with some headgear/shin guards and pay somebody like Carmelo Marrero to come in and see just what Toney can do and stop wasting everybody's time.  I mean Toney can barely put together coherent sentences, much less know how to stop a take down.

My take-It won't happen

dana said to his manager “you and i should get on the phone and see what both our expactations are, to see how to make this work”. this is when the conversation will change dramatically from this video.
1rst obstacle-Money. obviously toney is trying to cash in on 1 more big payday. he must have seen mercer/sylvia and thought “wow, it’s that easy”. it isn’t. mercer/sylvia was an anamoly imo. kimbo already subbed mercer. plus as i mentioned before, toney is not and has never been a big draw in boxing, or else he would be seeking a boxing match. so he’s not the type of guy that peole take seriously. i’m pretty sure that dana is not going to come close to the kind of money toney will be expecting.
2nd-most likely dana will tell him that he has to prove himself on a smaller circuit, actually prove he can “check kicks” and has some sort of takedown defense. this does not fit into toney’s plans imo. if not this, then dana should have toney in a private workout in vegas against some who does have good kicks and or takedowns, like randy or forrest(remember randy working out wiith ishi or forrest breaking that reportes leg). 1 good hard legkick or 1 big slam, may be all toney needs to change his mind quick. i doubt toney’s ego will go for this though either.
3rd- i don’t think toney has done his homework at all. i think he truley believes that by going to this events and showing up at these press confrences, that it will cause enough of a stir for dana to sign him. it won’t. the ufc has never needed freakshows and they never will. they certainly don’t need james toney. he literally brings nothing to the table.
some fans argue that kimbo is a freakshow, but there is no denying that he brings in ALOT eyeballs and puts fans in the seats. iv’e been wrong before, but i seriuosly doubt we will ever see toney in the ufc. :)

Well said. Money will likely keep this from happening. I actually believe Dana would like to do the deal. James is going to want too much money up front.

If Strikeforce were to do something like this

Dana would talk mad shit about them. I dont even know why is entertaining this nonsense.

LOL. Exactly.

I like how Dana immediately ignores him and starts talking to his ‘managers’. I say make it happen. Sometimes a good freakshow is a good thing. Maybe Toney will wear one boxing glove in the Octagon too. :P

33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.

So to summarize:

“I know all that ninja shit, I eat alot of red meat, eff you I’m James Toney.”

Bloody hell.

even moreso for a boxer with Toney’s style where he’s slipping and bobbing to dodge punches…..“he’ll be ready in 3 months”. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. note the sleeeeeazy guy negotiating with/for Toney….is he under contract….no, well, no, just boxing-not boxing, i’m a free agent.

tough means a lot less if u can’t check a kick and have never had a world class bjj/wrestler/whatever on your ass.
