UFC 112: Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort Official

UFC Press Release:

FIRST EVER OPEN-AIR EVENT TAKES PLACE IN UAE APRIL 10

DOUBLE MAIN EVENT
ANDERSON SILVA DEFENDS MIDDLEWEIGHT CROWN
AGAINST VITOR BELFORT
AND
BJ PENN DEFENDS LIGHTWEIGHT BELT
AGAINST FRANKIE EDGAR

PLUS: MIXED MARTIAL ARTS ICONS MATT HUGHES AND RENZO GRACIE MEET WITH FAMILY PRIDE AT STAKE

Abu Dhabi, UAE – The world’s greatest indoor sporting event goes outdoors on April 10 as the Ultimate Fighting Championship® organisation lands in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for the first time.

I'm really interested to see what the PPV buyrate will be for this event.  Typically the foreign cards don't do very well, but this is a double main event with two titles on the line.  Not to mention Renzo Gracie who has ties to the region.  Also, this will be the first OUTDOOR event for a UFC.  I wonder if this could be a precusor to an stadium event in Hawaii possibly, or the often rumored event that Dana White wants to hold in Fenway Park in Boston?

All the fighters on that card should-better-need-to go to the UAE at least 3 weeks before fight night and get really acclimated to the weather.

UFC won’t go to Hawaii until Hawaii lower’s it’s taxes for promoters. I think Hawaii’s got the highest tax bracket for promoters in the US

I like an active BJ Penn. Hope we see another 3 fights from him this year

That would be cool . . . but if he wins all three, maybe we may see a permanent move up to 170.
I just hope some one will really challenge Penn.

yeah yeah yeah . . .
