Bobby Lashley vs. Wes Sims Confirmed For Strikeforce: "Miami"

It wasn't easy, but Strikeforce today confirmed that is has finally found an opponent for former WWE star and collegiate wrestling champion Bobby Lashley (4-0):
Three-fight UFC veteran and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 alum, Wes Sims.

The announcement comes with little more than one week until Strikeforce: "Miami" is set to go down from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday, Jan. 30.

Yohan Banks was originally expected to take on Lashley; however, the Florida Boxing Commission rejected him as a worthy opponent. Mixed martial arts journeyman, Jimmy Ambriz, was later approved by the commission, but Strikeforce apparently wanted to go in a different direction.

Has Wes Sims even been training since he last appeared on TUF 10? We saw how Sims looks on TUF 10 getting mauled by a very inexperienced and much smaller Justin Wren. Strikeforce, you dropped the ball on this one.

Now..I don’t think SF would do this…but just waiting this late to find an opponent for Lashley just wreaks of a gimmie win for Lashley nahmean? I mean come on….how can you take a promotion serious when they do stuff like this? They would have been better off not even letting him fight on this card instead of fighting Sims….talk about waste of a fight and the money they will pay Lashley….smh

i for one would love to see lashley just beat wes sims down.

i wonder how many times the announcers will say sims is a ufc veteran. i say more than 4 times. well, unless lashley knocks him out in less than a minute.

i'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. i was building a house, i don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. bang. "unforgiven"
