Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga in the Co-Main Event for UFN on Versus
Promoted To Frontpage From Fanposts By Kelvin Hunt
A heavyweight bout between rising prospect Junior Dos Santos (10-1 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and perennial contender Gabriel Gonzaga (11-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is set for the March 21 "UFC on Versus 1: Vera vs. Jones" card.
Sources close to the fighters told MMAjunkie.com(www.mmajunkie.com) the fight, which today was confirmed by the UFC, serves as the night's co-headliner. It was first pitched to the fighters last week.
They're breakingout the heavy artillery for this card it seems - it's a logical step for Junior Dos Santos who's facing progressively more dangerous competition in the octagon, I'm happy they're not "Lesnar:ing" him. I'll bet my house that this fight won't be going to the judges.
Bout Analysis: They both posses some vicious hands, but JDS mixes his boxing up with alot of knees - Gonzaga on the other hand can deliver some thunderous leg-kicks, which has proven to be trouble for boxers in the past, but I still give the nod to JDS here -- his techniques are crisper. Gonzaga can turn your spine into an accordion cranking you on the ground, but all accounts indicate that JDS is no slouch on the ground. I think this will come down to conditioning, mentality and good ol' fashioned grit where the clear-cut advantage goes to Dos Santos... I think these two will turn the octagon into a warzone for a round or so but ultimately JDS will walk away with a TKO victory, somewhere in round 2.

jds has the killer instinct. he will knockout gonzaga
i just saw where b.j. penn will fight frankie edgar. that fight will not be all that interesting other than to see if penn is a -450 moneyline for the fight. maynard gave edgar his only loss correct? maynard if my memory serves me well picked up edgar a few times and slammed him. should be easy fight for penn. i also saw patrick cote is going to fight alan belcher. that would be a much better fight. i’ll take an educated guess and say belcher will be a +160. i’ll take belcher b/c cote has had a long layoff while belcher keeps fighting and improving. he would be a good live dog imo.
i'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. i was building a house, i don't deserve this, deserves have nothing to do with it. bang. "unforgiven"
