Quinton "Rampage" Jackson off of UFC 107 card!

Promoted From Fanposts To Front Page By Kelvin Hunt

Rampage will aparantly be too busy filming for the upcoming A-Team film, and as such will be unable to put in a full training camp for his upcoming fight with Rashad Evans at UFC 107.

According to the Vancouver Sun, via Five Ounces of Pain, Rampage's upcoming involvement in the A-Team movie (which has been disputed by some media outlets) will preclude him from taking in the full training camp that he would need to fight Rashad Evans.  This is a pretty hard blow to the card, as even though the main event was likely to be Penn vs. Sanchez for the lightweight title, this fight would probably hold the most interest from the MMA fanbase.  Of course, this also puts the light-heavyweight title on hold, as this fight was to be for the number one contendership to face the winner of UFC 104's Rua vs. Machida fight.

I’m admittedly no fan of the guy,

and I understand he’s probably getting a decent chunk of change for the movie, but what moron gives up the opportunity to fight in his hometown on the biggest MMA stage in the business? Some guys would kill for that opportunity. I mean, it’s not like the UFC was banking on a big draw in Memphis with Rampage in a grudge match on the card or anything. (“WTF” in Dana Whites voice)
Some gratitude for all the support (like dropping everything and flying out to bail him out) the UFC and Dana showed him when he went ape shit trying to save Brian from the devil.
This also doesn’t help his case against those that feel he is ducking opponents. I’m not saying he is, it’s just hard to make an argument against those types of sentiments.

I was really looking forward to Rashad beating Quinton too.

...some call me "el mexicutioner"...

I agree

and I’m a big Rampage fan. The fact that he did TUF 10 KNOWING that he and Rashad would be fighting afterwards…then to let this movie role become a priority over that is suspect IMO…echoing what Felix hit on…if he loses when he does fight Rashad….it’ll be a long road back to the title more than likely

First he dodges Lyoto and now he is screwing the fans and Rashad over after being a coach opposite him on TUF.

Besides, its not like he is getting any younger.

Shit like this justifies my dislike for Rampage.

Now the TUF 10 “bad blood” is gonna look even more fake.

Is Huerta in the movie too?

I really hope that this doesn’t go the way of Serra vs. Hughes. All that hype, and zero payoff.

I have a feeling that Rampage is not all that interested in fighting anymore…

Bloody hell.

well…….sucks that UFC went through all that trouble to set it up that he’d be in his hometown to fight and now he pulls out…however, can’t fault dude for trying to get some shine while his starpower is rising

i’m not entirly convinced that he will be making more money in the a-team, as to what he would have against fighting rashad. they were going to do a primetime special for this fight and IT would have def been the main in memphis, and page would have most likely made a good ppv% off of this fight. it’s just easier money playing b.a. baraccus. wev’e already read what dana thinks(giving him the ole "do you want to be a fkng fighter speech) so i think he kissed whatever loyalty he had withe the brass goodbye. don’t call them the next time you need bail. lol.
this would not be a big deal to me at all if it were after the rashad fight, during his downtime. if that were the case i would be applauding rampage.

Sounds like this is, in fact, official now. Supposedly Rashad announced it during an interview this afternoon. Well, it sucks. I know Quinton feels like he’s likely wrapping up his MMA career and is just trying to secure a future for his family. I can totally understand the fan frustration and disappointment in the delay, though. I share it.

The RSS claims that Evans confirmed it on Sherdog’s “IT’S TIME!!!” with Bruce Buffer, although I’ve yet to listen to it.. Breen comes first!
