Yo Dog

You better not let this list get around to Antonio McKee. You might get dealt with.

sucks that Japan has most of the guys that are truly dangerous to BJ….sigh. other than diego and maynard the decision bully, i dn’t see much in the way of exciting fights for the LW division….BJ has shown the ability to destroy wrestlers in the past, see: Sherk, Stevenson et al. I’d rather see him fight some varied styles of fighters like Alvarez and Aoki for starters.

Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei.

Wait a minute you have Aoki behind Alvarez when they just fought less than a year ago and Aoki submitted him in just over a minute and Edgar behind Sherk even though he picked Sherk apart for 3 rds. Why?

You dropped Hansen because of inactivity (OK reasonable) how about dropping JZ for not winning he hasn’t won since 2007.

Oh and where is Gilbert Melendez?

by scrambledeggs on Sep 30, 2009 7:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Melendez is just outside of the top ten

Yea..Aoki beat Alvarez…but Aoki lost to Hansen who Alvarez beat….Alvarez also has a win over Tatsuya Kawajiri

Edgar wasn’t top ten when he beat Sherk….there’s no way he could have leapfrogged everyone just to be in front of Sherk…I don’t believe that a fighter should leapfrog another just because they have a victory over them…not unless they are ranked like #5 and #6….if #6 beat #5…then he would leap frog him…but if #13 beat #5….you don’t necessarily put the guy that one at #5….

Sherk/Edgar was a UD for Edgar but it wasn’t a total blowout…check the stats

What with unranked fighters beating top 10 competition

In the case of Andrei Arlovski/Brett Rogers it meant that Arlovski fell quite a bit in the rankings… same with Sherk/Edgar IMO.

Bloody hell.

I couldn’t agree more. I won’t argue that Hansen hasn’t been active enough to rank him, but all JZ has done for two years is 0-2-1. That’s a drop to me.

Yo

He lost to two top 5 guys via UD….he’s at the bottom of the top ten….if Hansen beats Aoki..he’ll be back in the mix…

Come on dog, you know I have a problem with Maynard over Sherk. But it’s just my problem. I don’t see how one victory over Huerta brings him up by 2 places. Not to mention Diego Sanchez is at the bottom of the Top 10?

HEY, I gotta give you mad credit for not making this a heavy UFCentric ranking. Whaddabout Hellboy?!?

Yo

Diego beat Stevenson and Guida…..Maynard has beaten Huerta, Edgar, and Jim Miller who is tough as nails…as well as Rich Clementi…Maynard is a problem son!

He’s a problem but I think there’s more hype there than anything else.

i think diego will lose to bj penn b/c he will be to agressive

diego sanchez is a guy that seems very proud of himself. makes very comical faces before fights and praises jesus for his wins. he won’t listen to his corner and try to outdistance penn. he will want to do it his way and his agressive ways will get him in trouble in b.j. penns guard. i see a triangle choke in the late second round with diego frantically trying to slam penn to the ground but with no success. diego is no rampage. jackson’s slam in pride fighting where he picked up his opponent over his head and threw him to the ground where the guy’s head bounced off the canvas is classic. i think you can still see that on you tube. ramble on!

Um

You do know that BJ has never subbed anyone from his back in MMA right?…and that Diego is no slouch on the ground himself right?

Alvarez?

sorry i dont see all the hype with this guy. i watched a couple of his fights and i would put him against ANY light weight in the UFC. edgar and sherk would destroy him. florian might actually end his career if they fought. why is this guy so highly touted and ranked when he fights upper level guys and gets beat. number 2? are you kidding me? if bj penn is on the list ten no way in hell should Alvarez be on the same list, unless its for hot dog eating.
