i like that you have nate marquardt at #2
sine the anderson silva vs belfort fight is going to be the main attraction in ufc 108 i believe henderson has come to the conclussion he has to beat nate m. to get his shot at silva. i like marquardt to win that fight. the guy is soo filled with confidence now. he was very confident in the maia fight. that fight did not last long. he will be very confident vs henderson considering he is younger and stronger than henderson. i do think henderson is a very good fighter but he is in my opinion past his prime (cro cop comes to mind and w. silva) if anderson silva does beat belfort 50/50 in my book nate m. would face silva for the second time. remember it took gsp his second time to beat matt hughes. it’s all about confidence. gsp did not have it in the first fight but did in his second fight with hughes. i see the same thing with nate m. i’m not saying he could beat a.s. or v.b. but i think it would be a war with either guy. peace out ramble on!

I don't agree with Nate at #2
Just my rant.
-———————————-
Here’s why.
Who did he beat?
- he defeated master, who did not face a highly ranked MW fighter
- Gouveia?? not ranked in the top 10
- Kampmann, well you see what division he is in now
- Leites . . . argue all you want – a loss is a loss.
- Jeremy Horn? a last minute substitute fighter, well past his prime
How does that contrast to what Dan Henderson accomplished?
- Bisping*, an accomplished LHW fighter, TUF winner, lossed a split decision against a former LHW champion
- Defeated the former MW champion. Period!
- like Marquardt he beat an exciting upcoming BJJ expert in Palhares . . . no biggie
- not to mention that Henderson looked way better than Marquardt against the champion
@wofmanshowforever,
Stop with the whole he’s stronger than Henderson line, that’s an opinion. You can not prove it at all. We never saw them compete against each other. Many fighters already proved that how you physically look doesn’t define how strong you are. Gonzaga was supposed to be younger and stronger than the older, weaker Randy Couture . . . we all know what happened.
- I’m being really generous because I’m not a huge Bisping fan and he’s mid level at best.

I see you..but
Marquardt has finished his last three opponents…whereas Hendo was only able to finish Bisping…and Hendo’s win over Franklin doesn’t hold much weight IMO…because the fight was at LHW…
Also, Hendo didn’t look better against Silva than Marquardt…he may have lasted longer…but that was only because he laid on Silva the whole first round basically….when he fought like Marquardt did in the second round…it was pretty much the same result as Marquardt against Silva.

nate marquardt 7 time king of pancrase champion
as you say horn is past his prime i can say the same thing about henderson. he is getting way to much credit for his knockout of bisping. it was a good knockout but bisping’s bad footwork led to his demise. if you watch real close you can see henderson actually looking at the ufc canvas when he threw that punch. as for nate m. his knockout of an 10-0 maia in 21 seconds was the better knockout. i find nate’s knockout has more credibility b/c it happened so fast and maia was supposed to be soo good. as for tuf winners they have not been doing very well lately. forrest griffin embarrased himself vs anderson silva by running out of the cage as fast as any person i have ever seen. bisping has fought nobody of any credentials except rashad evans and he lost. he lost to hammil too but they gave him the old england home country decision. watch that fight. bisping might have won the last minute. does anybody know when they are going to cut mac danzig’s contract another tuf winner. he has lost three in a row and all were won very convincingly. i sure liked anderson silva choking the zhit out of henderson and him tapping. henderson’s best days were in pride. will see when they fight. literally my money is on nate.m. i will tell you the moneyline when it comes out when or if they fight. peace out ramble on!

Like I said, I was being really generous with Bisping. I would be lying if I ever said Bisping was a top MW or LHW for that matter.
Yeah Henderson is past his prime but he’s still looking solid in the cage and none of these young guys are stopping him. If Nate Marquardt stops Dan Henderson, I’ll be super-surprised. Hopefully that fight happens sooner than later. I can see Marquardt winning by decision AND I can see Henderson winning by decision or TK(O)
Randy is past his prime. ;-)

I was stretching the reality of Henderson vs. Silva, but in the end he did win a Round against the champ, which I really feel doesn’t mean much. ;-)
I think Henderson and Marquardt are practically interchangeable in the rankings. I can’t really argue for either fighter but I am honestly leaning towards Dan Henderson as the #2 fighter in the MW division.

I feel you
and likewise…I have Marquardt there because he’s been able to finish…now if they fight(hendo/marquardt) then we’ll have a definitive answer :)
