Tito sounds off on Fedor and Chuck
Via Fightline
On Fedor:
"I’m not sure if that’s gonna happen," Ortiz stated of the possibility of Emelianenko ever fighting inside an Octagon. "Fedor doesn’t want to fight the best in the world, and that’s bad for his career. He’s got people around him telling him what to do. He should fight in the UFC and fight the best in the world.
"That’s what I did. I want to fight the best in the world, that’s what my fans deserve.
on Chuck:
Do Tito’s fans deserve to see him get in the cage for a third time against a man that TKO’d him the two previous times they met up? Regardless if his fans want it or not, "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" does and that’s why he can’t seem to keep Liddell’s name out of his mouth since inking his UFC extension a few weeks back.
"I would have to say Chuck Liddell," Ortiz said regarding who he would like to fight. "I made a few mistakes in both fights and he beat me twice. I gotta say it was Chuck. I would love a rematch, but too bad he’s retired. A rematch would be nice and I think the fans would love it."
Chuck on Tito:
On the heels of Ortiz re-signing with the UFC, Liddell Tweeted that he would be more than willing to clear his schedule to whoop Ortiz’ tail for a third and final time.
"Sign me up to kick titos ass again," Liddell posted on his Twitter account last month.

Hmm
As much as I love to see Ortiz get smashed…I wouldn’t’ want to see Ortiz/Liddell 3…Also, even if Tito were to manage to beat Liddell now….what good what it be? Why would you want to beat someone that’s on the downside of their career even if you lost to them twice?

Yeah calling out the likes of Liddell and Coleman is not doing Tito any good… he’s uncharacteristically low-key about the fact that he’s the guy who has had Lyoto in the most trouble to date, but then again the prospect of that rematch is maybe as attractive haha
Bloody hell.

Man
Tito almost catching Machida with that sub is the equivalent of getting destroyed for three rounds and then landing a haymaker to drop your opponent without finishing him off…lol.

Still, it’s the most danger Machida’s been in to date =/
And I mean Tito isn’t exactly the humble type, it’d be right down his avenue to blow it waaaay out of proportion lol
Bloody hell.

The only reason I see Tito wanting that fight is to finally get a win over Chuck, not to fight the best. Does Chuck fight anymore?

Well
Dana wants Chuck to retire…but I think they’ll give Chuck one more fight….however, he’s set to appear on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” later this month.

Fighters on Fedor
1. Fedor doesn’t want to fight the best.
2. Fedor has people telling him what to do.
3. Fedor is afraid to face Brock Lesnar.
Incredible b.s.
1. At one point Randy* did not want to fight in the UFC. Was he ducking the best fighters? Or was it a business decision? Please Mir, Ortiz, stop sounding like company men. It’s awful.
2. I’m assuming that everybody believes exactly what Dana White says about Fedor’s relationship with M-1. They have comprehensive information on his contractual agreement with M-1.
3. Fedor is afraid of Brock Lesnar. Not too long ago people were stating that Lesnar did not deserve the opportunity he was getting, nevertheless a title shot. He’s so inexperienced but now, a fighter with a remarkable record against many top fighters who recently dropped 2 former UFC champions within the first round. Say what you will about Big Timmeh, but no one has ever dominated Tim Sylvia in that manner . . . well Ray Mercer is another story.
End note:Gegard Mousasi is able to fight for both Dream and Strikeforce. He has more opportunities to fight, therefore more opportunities to earn money. So does Fedor. Many fighters in the UFC wish they could fight more often.
If Dana White is so serious about having the best fighters face the best fighters like when he tried to get Chuck Liddell face Wanderlei Silva in Pride, only to lose to Quinton Jackson . . . what’s up with Cung Le vs. Anderson Silva? or Shinya Aoki vs. BJ Penn? or Antonio Silva vs. Brock Lesnar?
It’s good to see fighters like Jason Miller, Josh Barnett make a living outside of the UFC, get exposure in video games like the EA game – which Randy is in, MTV-love, and get love in Japan. I’m sure fighters Jon Fitch would love to be in both video games, get more sponsors that may not be able to afford the $100,000 price tage and possibly face tough competition in Dream.
I really think some fighters and fans need to get a grip and gain some perspective on things. I never heard Randy spew anything like that about Fedor . . . maybe because he knows whats up.

Solid pts
-However, Mousasi would probably earn more money in the UFC than DREAM/Strikeforce combined over time.
-Dana White sent Liddell to PRIDE and PRIDE was supposed to reciprocate with their fighters apparently but failed to do so…they also burned White again with White letting Wandy into the octagon to hype a fight with Liddell that never came to fruition…not to mention that the UFC wasn’t in the best shape financially at the time…however, now it would be pretty dumb to send fighters to other promotions…especially champions…that would be risking injury and the possiblity of losing….of course as fans we want to see it…but from a business perspective it would be pretty dumb.

Kevin . . . probably, but what do you say to the fighters earning $5 – $25,000 in the UFC.
2nd point, business is business, anything is possible. Had Chuck Liddell actually won in Pride, who knows, maybe the UFC would have had more leverage. There are a number of fighters competing in smaller shows and still fighting in the UFC. The UFC sever contracts with guys, they fight over where ever then some of them make it back to the UFC.
Like I said, if he was so concerned about making the biggest fights happen, the best fighting the best worldwide, then we would see it happen. Anything in business is possible. Dream is not Pride. Initially he had issues with Fedor doing Sambo competitions, some fighters doing ADCC . . . fighters not willing to sign all their rights for a video game, or a licensed UFC toy brand (which doesn’t compare to 5th Round at all), etc., etc.
It’s business and branding . . . nothing to do with trying to make the best fights happen -- although they have many great fights in the UFC.

It's Kelvin ;)
Those guys getting into the sport have to start somewhere I suppose…we all want to make more money…I sorely wish they got paid more….but it’s a sport plus entertainment….athletes have always been paid on a tiered basis…depending on skill level etc…i.e. A-Rod getting a 250 million dollar contract….and then someone else getting the bare minimum(which I think a bare minimum should be established for fighters make their UFC debut or whatever)..
Also, I always take caution in talking about fighter pay in regards to Zuffa…everything isn’t disclosed so I don’t think it’s fair to talk about something in which we don’t know all the details…a guy may have gotten $5,000 reported to the commission, but Zuffa could very easily have paid him an extra $15,000 because he put on a good performance…it’s happened before…
In regards to Zuffa wanting to put the best against the best…we have to look at this…how exactly are you determining who the best is? Outside of Fedor..the UFC has the best fighter in every weight class from LW thru LHW…
Anderson Silva has cleaned out his division beating the multiple ranked opponents
GSP- Same thing
The UFC LHW division is the most stacked division in all of MMA…ranked guys routinely fight ranked guys
BJ Penn is without a doubt the best LW in the world
I mean they tried to sign Fedor…he didn’t want to sign…you can’t fully blame Zuffa for that…look at the bigger picture…if they bend over backward for one guy…how does that affect the other 200+ fighters they have under contract? One fighter isn’t bigger than the sport.
