Versus Officially Dropped from DirecTV
If you are a DirecTV subscriber (such as myself), as of midnight last night the Versus channel went dark. Of course, we all know that Versus is the home channel for Zuffa-owned WEC and airs all of their live shows. The question now is whether or not this will give the execs of WEC the opportunity to shop around for another deal which will allow DirecTV owners an opportunity to stay in the loop with the goings-on of World Extreme Cagefighting. Here's to crossing our fingers! Do you think that WEC could find a new home or will they see what happens without their DirecTV viewers?

Well
I have Time Warner Cable so I’m good! I really think they are going to merge the WEC into the UFC…I just don’t know how they are going to do it.

Oh
Just read that Versus/Direct TV should be able to come to a deal within the next 6 weeks…which means you’ll be able to see WEC 43…if it comes to fruition.

And THAT is the reason they put off WEC 43!

They (Comcast) regularly try to charge us amounts well in excess of what is fair and reasonable to carry the programming they own," the message stated. "Their reason is obvious: They want to stifle competition from DirecTV. Comcast’s unfair terms undermines DirecTV’s ability to offer our customers the best possible value. If we simply accept these terms, we would have to absorb the unreasonable costs Comcast wants to charge us, and in turn we will be forced to increase the rates our customers pay. We do not want this to happen. In fact, Comcast has forced us to remove Versus because we would not accept the terms they demanded.
Quoted from DirecTV via MMAJunkie.com. According to an article done by the LA Times, Vs’s overall ratings are poor, and rank 61/74 in English speaking advertising-based cable broadcast stations. I’ve always said that Comcast is a pretty evil company, and this is further evidence. I understand the need for rate hikes, but asking DirecTV for more money is almost as silly as Comcast increasing their fees to subscribers: there’s nothing new, and no value added, and yet they want more money.
