Is Josh Gross Serious?

Critics panned Emelianenko's decision to turn down a big-money offer from the UFC, deriding him as purposely avoiding the best competition. But most misunderstood the parameters of his arrangement with M-1 and failed to recognize that his weight division is one of the few in MMA that features strong talent outside the UFC.

SI.com's Josh Gross tries to convince himself explain reasons Fedor inks a deal with Strikeforce over UFC.

LMAO!

Gross is on point at times…but he misses the mark here by lightyears….You have a guy in Werdum that just got KTFO by a no name guy…and he can’t speak any English…you have Overeem who’s top ten…but Strikeforce hasn’t been able to get him to defend his title in over two year….and Rogers who just creeped into the top ten…other than that….they have NOTHING…the only one that could pose a real threat is Overeem because of his size and overall skillset…those three guys can’t compare with

Lesnar
Carwin
Velasquez
Couture
Nogueira
Cro Cop
Mir
Kongo

Agreed. No disrespect to anyone at StrikeForce, but honestly, their roster is up and coming like their company. The UFC is unmatched at ANY weigh class anywhere in the world. They are the number one MMA promotion in the number one spot for MMA. I know, I know, before anyone tells me how much more educated and stuff they are in Japan, I understand. But if you want to fight the absolute best in the world you come to the US. The best in Brazil come to the US, the best from Europe (although they have a loooooong way to go to actually be competitive in the States). I know I might quote him too often, but Bas Rutten said recently on Inside MMA, in answering a question by Mussasi about where he should go to fight the best, Bas said the same thing I just said.
Anyway, I got off topic there! Sorry. The nut of it is that the UFC has the best, hands down. I think Fedor IS the greatest fighter on earth. However, he isn’t getting younger, and Brock Lesnar is getting better and better. Fedor would be better suited to fight Brock sooner rather than later, IMHO.
