Frank Mir on Anderson Silva calling him out.
Sherdog.com: Why do you think they floated your name specifically?
Mir: I think he feels that out of all the heavyweights, I’d be the least likely to shoot on him before anybody else. Stylistically, it’s to his advantage. If he’s going to fight a heavyweight, standing up and trying to pick him apart is probably his best avenue for victory. Which heavyweight is less likely to take him down? I probably have one of the weaker shots in the heavyweight division. Cain Velasquez, Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin -- all those guys wrestled in college at high levels. I only wrestled for two years in high school. If you’re going to stop someone’s shot, it’s probablyeasier to stop mine. I’ve also shown in my last couple of fights that I like to stand up.
...
If I were him and wanted to pick a heavyweight, I’d probably pick Mirko "Cro Cop" first, since you know "Cro Cop" would stand with him the entire time. But I think I’m a good and intelligent choice for him. Brock or Shane would be a dumb choice. They’re not going to stand with him. They’re going to pinch him against the cage, strip him down, and beat him to death. It’s not going to prove anything.
Me and him, we can move around and play a cat and mouse game. I’d be looking to land the heavier, more powerful shots, and he’d be looking to pick me apart, looking for angles. I think it makes for a very exciting, interesting match-up.
See this douchebag is really insightful when he skips on the arrogance and acts a little more humble. How do you see a Mir/Silva fight panning out?

I actually think Frank could force a takedown through sheer size and Silva fighting Mir on the ground would spell disaster. It’s not hard to see how a Silva KO could occur though, but I’ll go out on a limb and take Mir via submission =/
Bloody hell.

Yea
You def. going out on a limb with Mir via Sub….I don’t think Mir could get Silva to the ground…he’s pretty accurate in that his take downs suck.

Well...
You know Mir had to display that arrogance to hype that fight up with Lesnar. I don’t remember Mir talking that much trash in the past. I could be wrong though.
I would love to see Mir win a fight against Silva and I’d be pulling for him, but it’s really hard to say. I don’t think Mir has been the same since the bike accident years ago. The win over Nogueira was lucky IMO considering Nog was fighting a staph infection and a bum leg if I remember.
My mind is just telling me Silva would pull off the win against Mir.

Dana White responds in regards to Frank Mir saying that he wanted to break Brock Lesnar's neck and for him to die in the octagon.
