Quoteworthy: Paulo Filho-"I'd Submit [Gegard] Mousasi"
Paulo Filho speaks with Tatame:
I wanna fight Mousasi and show that with against me is a whole different thing… He doesn’t have my strength, he doesn’t have my level on the ground. He can be a better striker, but he doesn’t have my strength and he’ll go down once and be submitted", guarantees Fiho, commenting Mousasi’s fight against Sobral. "HE’s well trained, but I don’t think he’s healthy enough to beat me… If he wins, I don’t even want my salary. But I guarantee he’ll be beaten more than he was against (Akihiro) Gono"
One must remember that Gegard Mousasi has a couple of fights left on his DREAM contract, so this fight could definitely come to fruition. Filho was able to weather the stom against heavy handed Melvin Manhoef and submit him at DREAM 10. There were rumors of Filho getting a middleweight title shot at DREAM 11, but nothing has been formally announced. Acutally, Filho's next fight will be against Alex Shoenauer at Bitetti Combat 4. Do you think Filho could submit or even defeat Mousasi? Hit the comments and/or poll up with your thoughts.

His submssion skills are world class but it’s his sleeveless flannel shirt wearing skills that quickly made Paulo Filho the darling of the MMA world.

If this was the Paulo Filho from ‘06 or ’07, i’d take him in a heartbeat over Mousasi. Not so much these days.

!["It's going to take a lot of time," he said. "I have to take it step by step. I cannot put so many pounds on in a short time. First, I will be a small heavyweight, and slowly I want to put more pounds on. It will take two, three years before I'm a solid heavyweight."
"They wanted me to sign for six fights," Mousasi said of the original deal. "I didn't want that. They didn't pay me that much. But money will come. I want to grow with Strikeforce as they grow with Showtime and CBS. I think it's a good place to be.
"If I had it in my mind, like OK, I'm going to the UFC, then I would have gone. But I have a new contract with DREAM, so I'm planning to stay busy and fight in Strikeforce and Japan constantly."
"I don't want to fight for too long," he said. "(At) 30, I'm finished. In my mind, (I just want) the amount of money that [would give me] a good life. Anymore than that, I don't need.
