No way Sherk is 3 spots ahead of Edgar, no matter what the circumstances.

Bloody hell.

Well

Now had Edgar finished Sherk…then I’d agree…I don’t necessarily think a fighter should swap rankings as such just because they have a win over them…If they fought again and Sherk stopped trying to be a boxer…he could very well beat Edgar….just as Maynard did…

I mean…Appalachian St. shouldn’t have been ranked ahead of Michigan a couple of years ago just because they beat them…nahmean?

Sherk didn’t though – and anyone who predicted he would go back to his wrestling base in that fight hadn’t done their homework. a) His last performance b) The interviews with him talking about how you need to be well-rounded/exciting before the Edgar fight. There’s absolutely no consequence comparing this to you moving Rashad down from the #2 spot at LHW.

Bloody hell.

Yo

I don’t follow you here…what’s Rashad not being #2 have to do with this?

I’m saying Rashad has done more to earn a #2 spot at LHW then Sherk has done to earn a spot ahead of Edgar in the LW rankings.

Bloody hell.

Nah

You can’t deny Rampage the #2 spot man…he beat a ranked Wandy and a ranked Jardine….after losing a decision against a ranked Forrest Griffin…and that was VERY arguable…plus, Machida destroyed Rashad…

Why is Eddlie Alvaraez ranked ahead of Shinya Aoki? Aoki has a better record.

Where’s Hellboy, Joachim Hansen?

I have to agree with Kelvin Hunt, Sherk has a PHENOMENAL record at 33 – 4. Frankie Edgar is just a 10 – 1 fighter. While Sherk definitely slipped against Frankie Edgar, the rest of his losses were to TOP welterweights (the current champion and former champion) and the current lightweight champion who’s also a former WW champion.

Not disputing that — the game has left Sherk behind at this point though. You’ll never see him challenging for a title again.

Bloody hell.

Maybe

But…that’s not to say he can’t be #5 in the world though…even with the loss to Edgar….I mean Maynard beat Edgar just as bad as Edgar beat Sherk…and he’s only one spot behind Maynard…

Hansen?

Son hasn’t fought in a long time…he’s out due to inactivity.

Who

Hansen? When he fights again….and wins…he’ll be on here….in the meantime..the fighters on here have been way to active to leave them off just because he’s been inactive IMO.

Utter Crap

Why in the blue freaking hell do guys who fight in Japan get preferential treatment in rankings. All they fight are cans and eachother. Take Alvarez for example, he did well in the GP but before that he wasn’t ranked even close to anyone’s top 20 and his performances in Bellator have been less than impressive. So obviously he should be ranked number freaking 2 on top ten lists, are you shitting me?

Guys outside of Japan fight nothing but top tier competition and compile stellar records yet are relegated to the bottom half of the top ten……….if they are lucky.

Sherk, Florian and Edgar would each smash the shit out of Alvarez, Aoki and Kawajiri yet because they don’t get the opportunity they are viewed as lesser fighters.

While that’s certainly possible…we’ll never know unless they fight….and it’s certainly possibly they would smash the Sherk, Florian, and Edgar….especially Kawajiri and Alvarez.
