Couture officially announced for EA Sports MMA

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Former UFC heavyweight and light-heavyweight champion Randy Couture was officially announced for EA Sports MMA by EA Sports president Peter Moore at a press conference held Saturday at the San Jose Marriott.

"It's an honor to be here with EA," Couture said.

Couture joins a growing list of fighters to sign up for the EA game. Recently announced fighters include Fedor Emelianenko, Renato Sobral, Gegard Mousasi and Jay Hieron.

"As we did with Fight Night Round 4 when we were able to bring together Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, this could be the only place where you see Randy Couture fight Fedor," Moore said.

The game is expected to be released in 2010, but Moore noted "we're still a long ways away."
