Report: UFC To Absorb Twenty Fighters From Affliction Roster

According to Insidefights.com:

Inside Fights has confirmed that Zuffa will absorb the contracts of about twenty fighters from Affliction Entertainment after the company agreed to stop promoting fights last week and become a UFC sponsor.

Well, it looks like the first two have been confirmed via Sherdog:

Ben Rothwell and Chase Gormley will make their Octagon debuts in a heavyweight bout at UFC 104 on Oct. 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

Ben Rothwell is a quality heavyweight and with record of (30-6) and former IFL standout.  He last fought in December 2008 at Adrenaline MMA 2.  Chase Gormley is a heavyweight as well and is an undefeated fighter (6-0).  He last fought in May 2008 at Maximum Fighting Championships 16.  So these two will be squaring off in the octagon it appears later this year.

It'll be interesting to see which fighters will be named later.  Jay Hieron, Gegard Mousasi, and Renato "Babalu" Sobral" all will be fighting for Strikeforce according to various reports, so their names can be omitted from the list of Affliction fighters.  Vitor Belfort seems like a lock to make his UFC return, could we possibly see the likes of fighters like Takanori Gomi make their UFC debuts?  Who do you think will go to the UFC?  Build with me.

I'd love to see Mousasi..

but I guess he wants to box too.
Like you said, Belfort seems like a lock. Lets hope the Fedor rumors are true. Is Horodecki still with Affliction? I’d like to see him in the UFC or WEC. Kid is a scrapper.

Saw on a website

Saw on a website stateing that the LA Times is reporting that the UFC will anncounce Fedor vs. Lesner this Friday during a media conference. I searched the LA times website and didn’t find a thing to confim this. I am not a 100% believer of the site so does anyone have anything credible on this?

Right now it's a rumor.

But a lot of people think there is truth to it. I guess we just have to wait until Friday to know for sure.
