Report: George St. Pierre's Injury Will Not Require Surgery

UFC WW Champ George St. Pierre

UFC WW Champ George St. Pierre

Sherdog has the news:

"Georges should be back in the gym training within a few weeks after a brief rehabilitation," wrote the French Canadian’s manager Shari Spencer in an email to Sherdog.com.

This is great news in that surgery could have potentially caused GSP to miss a substantial amount of time away from the cage.  It's already been announced that he will take on the winner of the Martin Kampmann vs. Mike Swick fight that's scheduled to take place at  UFC 103.  Which means that GSP could possibly defend his UFC welterweight title on the year end December card provided the winner of that fight isn't injured.  If that's the case, then GSP would probably fight again on the superbowl weekend card as he did this year against BJ Penn at UFC 94.

great news! hope to see him fight by the end of the year. i think every champ should try and fight at least 3 times a year, injury permitting.
