That straight arm to Franks throat was awesome as was when he had Frank in that one-armed semi-crucifix position while pounding on him in round 1.
It wouldn’t have surprised me, when they were standing up, if Brock was able to hold Frank away by palming Franks forehead while he was attempting to swing at Brock, kind of like an adult does to a kids when they are playing around. He pretty much had his way with Mir.

The idea that Brock used technique and not just brute force certainly isn’t the popular one.

While True

He did use some technique along with brute strength…and welcome to the site!

Lesnar’s a beast on the ground, no doubt. That wrestling skill is no joke.

Impressive

Very good insight into what really happened.

Really good stuff

I’ve been trying to tell buddies of mine that is wasn’t just Brock’s massive size and strength that won him the fight, his combination of that plus the technique in this video did it for him. If you notice in the fight, Brock actually lets Mir stand up when he could have followed him to the ground into full-guardt. I believe Brock planned on staying on the ground with Mir only if he could get into his half-guard. He probably figured that was his best chance at beating Mir on the ground. Again tho, great video, very insightful.

Welcome to the site, man. Good points.

I noticed a few of those things watching the fight, particularly when he trapped Mir’s head with his left arm in a cradle and fed him massive rights.

Bloody hell.

it’s weird b/c my jiu-jitsu coach was showing me that shoulder pinning to punch in the face move in someone’s half-guard LITERALLY the thursday before the fight as an mma application for top position in half-guard.

Very informative, but I’d like to add a note from a very wise man (my father) : “The bigger they are, the harder they hit.”
