IFL Veteran Roy Nelson And UFC Veteran Wes Sims Added To TUF 10

According to MMA Madness:
Former IFL Heavyweight champion Roy "Big Country" Nelson and UFC veteran Wes Sims will join Kimbo Slice on the cast for The Ultimate Fighter Season 10: The Heavyweights, a source close to the show reported.
The show began filming last week and will premiere on Spike TV on September 16. This season will feature a cast of all Heavyweight fighters and will be coached by former Light Heavyweight champions Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans.
Well, so much for the notion that the UFC only promotes guys with athletic looking physiques. Nelson the IFL veteran is coming off back to back losses to other UFC veterans Andrei Arlovski and Jeff Monson. Nelson is a huge heavyweight and is well versed in submissions. Nelson is known for celebrating his wins by rubbing his big ol belly as the picture above shows. Nelson's career record stands at 13 wins against 4 losses. Wes Sims is a UFC veteran who is absolutely huge at 6'10" and a member of Team Hammer House with Mark Coleman. Sims is on a 3 fight winning streak fighting in smaller shows, and has been absent from the UFC for over 5 years. His career record stands at 20 wins against 11 losses with 1 draw and 2 no contests.
It appears that the competition that Kimbo Slice will face in the house will not be a cake walk provided he fight one of these two fighters. TUF 10 is going to be great, and I'm very excited about the upcoming season. What say you on these two additions to TUF 10? Does this diminish Kimbo's chances of winning the show?

Does anyone have a betting line for Nelson to win the whole thing? Because I’ve got a $20 bill I need to invest in BIIIIIIG COUNTRY!

Doing a quick search I found no site offering that bet… probably because the line-up isn’t complete yet.
Bloody hell.

I think the lineup is complete
As they started filming last week…they don’t have to fight to get into the house this time I don’t think.

Doesn’t this negate the whole purpose of the show? Whats the use of having guys like Roy Nelson on TUF when you know that he’ll never be an elite level fighter. Kimbo on the other hand is an unknown quantity. He still has a lot to learn. Big Country on the other hand has evolved as much as he can.
Bobby Lashley would make sense because he again, is an up and coming fighter. Having Roy Nelson on TUF is like having Jay Hieron on TUF. Both are decent fighters and have no reason to be on a television show which is meant to find newer talents.

The purpose of TUF isn’t to develop new fighters, it’s to take existing fighters and get them exposure on TV. Fighters don’t typically get a lot better in the however many weeks they’re there, because they already train. For example, the red-head dude that’s on Henderson’s team this season already trains with Team Quest. The only reason he’s there is because they can take him on the show, run him around SpikeTV for a few months, and when it’s over he’s not some ginger that people don’t care about because he has no wins, he’s that guy from TUF that did (whatever) on TV. That said, Nelson is a good heavyweight, and god knows the UFC needs good heavyweights.
Kimbo on the other hand is an unknown quantity.
Kimbo is what he is. I think the old dog adage applies here, because that guy isn’t going to develop a brilliant ground game, or learn how to slap on flying armbars. He’ll stand and brawl, and maybe learn to defend takedowns.

I personally like the addition of “Big Country” to the roster. Wes Sims is there to contribute to some interesting television, I think.

Big Country on TUF...what?
That’s cool…so now we know who wins TUF 10.
Yeah Slick…I’m with ya…Sims is there for the TV aspect. All silly reality shows seem to have someone like him.
