Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

What I Learned From This Past Weekend’s MMA Events

-I’m a fan of both, but Kevin Randleman and Jens Pulver are done.

-Nick Diaz is the man and needs to come back to the UFC

-Urijah Faber has incredible will to win (although he came up short against Mike Brown)

-Size doesn’t really matter in the case of Lawler/Shields

-Strikeforce needs better production something serious

-I can never get enough MMA

-Mike Brown is beatable at 145

-Jose Aldo is the TRUTH

-I saw a flying triangle in competition for the first time

-Andrei Arlovski’s chin is made of saran wrap

-Brett Roger’s deserves a lot of respect

-Scott Jorgensen and Antonio Banuelos should have won FOTN at WEC 41

-Kenny Florian did a good job commentating at WEC 41(he even twittered during the event)

-Did I mention that WEC 41 was dope?

-I can’t wait to see Donald Cerrone vs. Jamie Varner 2

-I can’t wait to see Gina Carano vs. Cyborg in August

-I’m now looking forward to Alistair Overeem vs. Brett Rogers

What did you learn?

The Hammerhouse associates need to just call it quits

Faber’s that dude…how he went on for 20 minutes with a broken hand and was still going toe to toe with Brown, that’s whats up

I felt REALLY bad for Arlovski but I’m becoming a Rogers fan…dude looks like a normal guy you’d see grilling out in your neighborhood but he’s that dude

I agree with everything except I don’t really give two fucks about Carano/Cyborg

Bloody hell.

lol, we should do a fantasy league bonus round to see who can pick the amount of pounds Carano & Cyborg will miss weight by

What with “girl problems” and all that…. I’m all for Carano having to strip down to her birthday suit with a subsequent towel slip at the weigh-ins though!!

Bloody hell.

I learned the Nick Diaz REALLY, REALLY likes to throw a high volume of punches. He also changes up speeds nicely with his punches.

I learned that

- Jamie Varner is currently in ICU
- Banuelos got robbed of a bonus check
- Aldo has some mad ups!
- The PIT has another fighter, and he has a kickass handlebar stache.
- Mike Brown is THE man at 145
- Florian is pure awesomeness in the booth…err table.
- Nick Diaz is fun to watch…and listen to!
- Strikeforce has a good future but long way to go…
- I really really do hate ramps and pyro in my American MMA
- Arlovskis jaw really is made of glass ( I was defendin up all over the place last week)
- WEC as SIIIIIIICK! Too bad its not on TNT or USA. You know, a channel people watch.

I have to diagree about Arlovski's chin. It is not made of seran wrap!! Whats wrong with you, man?

It’s made of either Saltine crackers or rice cakes.

...some call me "el mexicutioner"...

Arlovski doesn’t have fists under those gloves – only two more chins!

’twas a bit of a stretch, but I made it work.

Bloody hell.

He was trying to punch Grim’s hands with his face.

that WEC was one of the most exciting cards I’ve seen in ages. Each and every fight was exciting. great ground work (Cerrone’s fight/transitions, same with Banuelos), flying triangles, handlebar staches indeed……..Strikeforce’s card was a sham, the WEC took the cake for best card I’ve seen for most of this year thus far.

I learned what I already knew:

Jake Shields is not only the #2 Welterweight, but also a top 10 Middleweight.

The guys is 2-0-1 against 3 of the best MWs fighting. (Okami, Lawler, Misaki)

I also learned that Mike Brown is a bad bad dude
