I’m thinking that he doesn’t make weight. Just a hunch and I hope that I’m wrong. Man, both of these guys are ENORMOUS welterweights.
THAT would be Shame of 2009
I hope he learned his lesson about making weight, ankle or not. If he misses on weight and this fight becomes a non-title 3-rounder or not happen at all (at UFC100, no less), that would be the ultimate career suicide move for Alves.

I believe him.
GSP
Pros-
Great wrestling.
Great cardio. Relentless.
Accurate striking. Will enjoy a slight reach advantage.
Strong jiujitsu. Almost impossible to submit.
Cons
Suspect chin.
Lacks one shot KO power.
Will be at least 6-8 pounds lighter than Alves on fight day.
Thiago
Pros-
Very good striking.
KO Power.
Hard to take down.
Physically dominating.
Cons
Cardio? Cutting so much weight for a 5 round fight can’t be good.
Wrestling nowhere as good as GSP’s and neither is his jitz.
This is very hard to call.

Yea
I don’t know if I’d say destroy….ultimately I think Alves can’t stop GSP’s takedown…and then it’s a wrap…Alves might be able to stop one or two take downs though…

Haha
That could happen…Especially if GSP is able to keep him down…as big as Alves is…all those muscles will be zapped of oxygen pretty quickly from trying to get back to his feet.
