MMA4Real's June Heavyweight Rankings

1. Fedor Emelianenko

2. Josh Barnett

3. Frank Mir

4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

5. Brock Lesnar

6. Alistair Overeem

7. Randy Couture

8. Shane Carwin

9. Brett Rogers

10. Andrei Arlovski

-Fedor Emelianenko remains at the top as the #1 HW fighter in the world and will be taking on #2 ranked Josh Barnett at Affliction 3 in August.  Frank Mir(#3) will be taking on #5 ranked Brock Lesnar to unify the UFC HW title at UFC 100 in July.  Randy Couture(#7) will be taking on (#4) ranked Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 102 later this year.  So there are a lot of BIG fights in regards to the HW rankings coming up on the horizon after not having too much movement in the first part of the year.  We saw Brett Rogers creep into the top ten after blasting Andrei Arlovski at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields.  Some may question why Cain Velasquez isn't listed, but I don't his win over Kongo was bigger than Roger's victory over Arlovski.  Some may ask why Arlovski is still ranked after getting KTFO twice in a row in the first round.  While that's true, Arlovski has the skills to give anyone trouble on any given night.  That's why rankings are subjective though as we can all provide reasons why we do this or that.  Flame away!

Check out Brett Rogers up there! Good call. If he can get by Overeem he’ll see his stock soar.

Arlovski has looked so vulnerable to being KOd off late….Just about anyone heavyweight who can throw a punch has a decent shot at beating Andre. Imagine if Kongo had landed any one of those huge shots he rocked Cain with on Arlovski instead! Pitbull would still be out. For that reason, I think Rogers is being overrated. Cain would beat him up pretty bad if they fought.

While that's not a far fetched statement

There’s no denying that Rogers has KO power…and if he connected it could be lights out for Cain as well…because while Kongo has power…he has more of a stun his opponent type power…than a one punch it’s a wrap power.

Yeah i see what you’re saying. Funny how these things work…

Brett Rogers connects, sends no-jaw Arlovski into la la land.

Gonzaga connects (with a KO worthy shot) but Carwin eats it, survives and comes back to KO Gonzaga instead.
