Hate for Cro Cop? Sympathy for Dana?
Spare me the sympathy for Dana.....
-Dana cut Matt Lindland for a gambling shirt he wore at a WEIGH-in?
-Dana pushed for exclusive contracts owning the likeness of fighters PERMANENTLY (like after they have their contract cut prematurely)?
-the UFC can cut your contract at any point, even after a win?
-original TUF contestants were not to be paid AT ALL fight fighting on the show....and if injured, they'd head home unable to do anything so much as earn a living, or get a severance package?
- limits which sponsors fighters can have on their trunks, this also includes non adult related companies that might be competing with official UFC sponsors (such as Toyo tires, that brand of beer that the Fertitas happen to own, but if another beer company wants to pay the UFC directly, that's fine)......
-is moving towards getting a cut of all promo money paid by fighters from sponsors?......even though part of the ridiculous rationale for why fighters don't get paid as much is "they have sponsors..." which is bullsh**. You get paid for fighting. Whatever you make on the side is not a rational to be paid less for the job you do and the revenue you generate.
I hope Cro Cop punks Dana and the UFC. I honestly do. For a company that can CUT YOU AT ANY TIME IN YOUR CONTRACT WITHOUT REASON to complain about a guy not living up to a verbal agreement.....it's just empty words.

I agree with a large portion of this although I know why alot of it happened and I can understand that POV as well…the only thing is that most of it deals with the fighters agreeing to whatever the UFC says….unfortunately they don’t have many options if they want to make a living as a fighter….but then again nobody is forcing them to sign the contracts either..at least not that I know of…
In terms of Cro Cop…I don’t have any sympathy for Dana White…or hate for Cro Cop…what I have is less respect for Cro Cop since apparently he’s not a man of his word….whether it’s verbal or written. All I can go on is what Dana said, since Cro Cop has pretty much refused to give his side of the story….and if Dana was outright lying he(CC) should have said so off tops…

“the UFC can cut your contract at any point, even after a win?” I see what you’re saying but there’s an easy option for the fighters: don’t sign it. I agree that Dana was stupid to have signed him to a one-year contract, regardless of what Mirko might have told him. Anyway, each will go their separate way and be fine. The UFC is out nothing, in my opinion.

SO WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM?
The problem is I’m 35 and I’m finally healthy. UFC is offering me a fight 6 months from now. Even before UFC 99 I said that won’t work for me, but they said something like they’re gonna change it. I said even before that I wanna fight 3 more times this year, I don’t really care if it’s in the ring or Octagon.
JAPANESE HAVE BETTER OFFER?
I’m a big star in Japan and I can be on every card I want there. I have a lot of fans there who want me to return. They offer me way more fights and more often, and there is always a possibility that a fight with Fedor could occur – that is my priority.
WHAT ABOUT "I DON’T KNOW IF I’LL WIN THE UFC BELT BUT I’LL DIE TRYING"?
I still stand behind my words and I know the best fighters are in the UFC. I want that belt so much, but if they’re offering me the next fight in 6 months I don’t see how I could take it. I said that when i thought things will go in another direction. That belt is still my goal – but I want to have a couple of fights in a next few months.
DID YOU SIGN WITH ANY ORG? DANA LOST HIS TEMPER AND SAID YOU TRICKED HIM
The thing was blown out of proportion. All of this, besides being a sport is a big business too. They know in the UFC I did my part of the deal so I don’t think we’ll have any problems. I haven’t signed nothing yet with any org, and as I said – I’m prepared to talk with both sides. I’ve never been in a sweeter yet more difficult position. Dream offers me more fights, but at the other hand I’m aware of the quality that is in the UFC.
AND WHAT NOW?
I really don’t know. I have to consider it and see. I don’t see why I wouldn’t fight in Japan a few fights and then return to UFC. That is also an option. What matters is that I feel great physically. I can almost say never felt better.

Yea
A lot of the big stars would have to make sacrifices…dunno if they’ll ever be willing to do that…
