Quoteworthy: Tom Atencio Says Dana White Won't Fight

"I’ve been seen in front of the cameras before as far as the business side, but it’s time to fight. I’m doing something Dana White won’t do and that’s fight. He talks like a fighter, so why doesn’t he fight? I’m stepping up to the plate and win, lose or draw I attempted it. I don’t ever think he would fight."
I've always said I respect anyone that gets in the cage, and that goes for Tom Atencio as well. However, him asking why Dana White doesn't fight is pretty ridiculous. I mean if Atencio was running a company like he was supposed to, he wouldn't be fighthing either. As I said last week(or whenever it was announced Atencio would be fighting) this pretty much tells you all you need to know about the reality of Affliction lasting past a third show. If he had the business sense of Dana White, he'd be getting things lined up for Afflictions third show, opposed to having a MMA fight against some dude we've never heard of. Also, not to mention that Atencio is like 42 years old. I think the more important questions is why is Atencio fighting?

Dana might not fight, but he can do one thing Atencio can’t: turn a profit on his shows.

I see, for some reason I thought you were from LA or at least on the west coast. Games start at 9:30 here.

And why should he? Dana is a promoter, and he promotes. Atencio is also a promoter, and he… well he’s not really promoting right now. If the top banana of Affliction is spending his time training and fighting instead of pulling together sponsors and selling T-shirts, then their days as a fight promotion are looking more and more bleak.
