You Can't Be A Thug In Mixed Martial Arts

The most disturbing thing I find is people who say MMA fighters are nothing more than meat heads that wouldn’t be able to find any success if it weren’t for promotions like the UFC, Strikeforce and the now defunct Japanese Pride Fighting Championship.

No one criticizes boxers or brings up how intelligent they are. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of boxing, and in no way, shape or form am I trying to pit boxing versus MMA. They are two completely different types of fighting, but maybe if some of the critics did a little bit of research they would find out many fighters are well educated and actually have college degrees.

For sure, more MMA fighters are college educated than the stereotype would have you believe.  I will also say on behalf of my street brethren though, obtaining a college degree doesn't mean you are smart.  You have common sense and then you have book sense.  I'd rather have common sense ANY day over book sense for what it's worth.
