Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

MMA For Real Fantasy League UFC 96 Thread

And another one...yep, it's that time AGAIN.  The time you've all been waiting for, another opportunity to sink or swim in the fantasy league.  And from now on, we're bringing it out just for those folks that've been asking...click to see exactly what I'm talking about!

Star-divide

RULES: If you have agreed to participate you MUST pick your winners the Friday before the event (or Tuesday before event for UFN) and it must be before 5 PM EST because once I leave work I will lock the thread so that no one can edit their picks, although it ain't that serious..lol

FORMAT: It's easy, you pick a winner, how you think they'll win (because of the numerous submissions you can just say 'via submission'), and what round they win in. Getting these things right will help your record as well as your score.

RECORDS: If there are five bouts on a card, your record will show how many you pick right and how many you pick wrong. So if I got 3 fights right and 2 wrong, then my record for that event would be (3-2) and so forth.

POINTS: I will calculate a point system just to add to the breakdowns of the fight. Here's how it goes:

If you pick the winner - 1 point
If you pick the winner + how they win or what round - 3 points
If you pick the winner + how they win + round - 5 points

I will tally all the points after an event.

The only fights I really am excited about are Jacksons and Veras, but I wont even get to see Vera’s fight..lol.

I feel Jackson is far to focused now, i am really excited to see how he puts jardine away.

the thing with gonzaga is that he’s got the talent. i just dont know if he has the cardio or the mentality. i’m anxious for the weigh-ins for this fight, to see how gonzaga looks. this should be an explosive fight eithwer way.

This card is hard as fuck to predict – I was going to bet on it but the betting value was so horrible for many of these fights I refrained from it.

Bloody hell.

by 3PA on Mar 6, 2009 4:29 PM EST up reply actions

I think the value is there on a lot of the fighters, I just don’t like it enough to bite. Jim Miller is around +155 in some places, which I’d be down for in a heartbeat if I didn’t think Maynard had a good chance of smothering him for 3 rounds. Matt Brown at around +130 is pretty good, and I think that Keith Jardine is a very live underdog at upwards of +285.

With that in mind, no way in hell am I going to put any real money on the fights ;)

Odds work a little differently over here; Jardine is the only one I’d consider putting upset money on, but not without 2 “safe” fights or so to back that bet up.

Bloody hell.
