Report: Anthony Johnson vs. Matt Brown at TUF 9 Finale

MMAWeekly with the scoop:

Just weeks after the proposed match-up between Anthony Johnson and John Howard fell through, Johnson now has a new opponent as "Ultimate Fighter" season 7 competitor, Matt Brown, has been tapped as a replacement to fight on the "Ultimate Fighter" season 9 finale show.

Ohh...nice replacement in my opinion.  Matt Brown has really impressed me since his days on TUF.  I honestly never gave the guy a chance at doing anything, but he's proved me wrong for sure.  Brown likes to stand and bang as does Johnson so this has somebody getting KTFO all over it.  Whereas, John Howard was more of a GnP type of fighter.  Brown is coming off that dismantling of Pete Sell, and Johnson is coming off a win over Luigi Fioravanti.  This TUF 9 Finale is going to be stacked!  Who do you like in this fight?

Also, just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going to be away from the blog today for the most part.  I'll be back this afternoon.  Feel free to use the fanpost/fanshot sections to help me keep the blog updated in my absence.

Don’t forget that Brown has the capacity to submit as well… I’m sure Johnson will do his best to keep it standing, or at least stay on top, but don’t be too suprised to see Brown try to work some submissions here and there.

Yea, but Johnson should be able to keep the fight standing with his wrestling…at least that’s what I’m thinking…see you guys later on today…

Good fight IMO – they’re slowly building Rumble towards contendership.

Bloody hell.

Agreed

Matt just showed he has some skills but Joe Silva knows Rumble will probably still take him out.

WAR RUMBLE!

Damn, thats gonna be a pretty damn good show!

I'm SO torn...

I am really a big fan of both guys. I too have been a fan of Brown since his days on TUF and think he is a phenomenal fighter. I also LOVE Rumble. Honestly, I am not sure who will come out of this one with the “W”. Either fighter winning makes me happy, but I think if Brown can get Rumble on the ground he’ll submit him easy. But standing up, maybe Rumble has the advantage? Ooooo… I don’t know! Best part is that it takes place the day after my birthday! Happy Birthday to me! :)

I'm the kind of girl who loves to watch a GOOD fight!
