Dana White: UFC 100 Will "More than likely have GSP defending his welterweight title"

Click here for a link to the audio. Its an excerpt from an interview that Dana did with CKAC Sports730 AM in Canada this weekend. I guess its safe to say the fight would be against Thiago Alves?

Although this isnt exactly a big surprise to anyone, at least the big match up that everyone has speculated about happening at UFC 100 is being more than confirmed by The Boss himself.

MMAMania.com is reporting the following in regards to the date the PPV is set to happen:

Georges St. Pierre will defend his welterweight title against number one division contender Thiago Alves in main event of the landmark UFC 100 pay-per-view (PPV) event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 11.

Hopefully all the "greasiness" in regards to the GSP/Penn fight will be gone by the time this fight happens.

Nice job Felix. White also indicated that the event will be a event where all the titles are on the line(HW, LHW, MW, etc).

Thanks man. I went to the actual radio station and everything was in French and I couldnt find a translate button. I was like “WTF?” Luckily I was able to make some of it out, enough to find the audio anyway. Thats cool about all the title matches. Im surprised about the MW, since Silva is fighting at 97. I’m sure he will have no problem with Leites if this PPV even happens. Silva is a trooper though, so a quick turnaround from him wouldnt surprise me. Hopefully the winner of Sonnen/Maia will get him at UFC 100. So I take it Rashad will more than likely fight Machida? That Rampage/Jardine fight is getting that situation even more complicated if they want to have Rashad fight someone at UFC 100.

Nah, they definitely doing Rashad/Rampage if Rampage beats Jardine..and doesn’t get injured or anything. If so, then it’ll be Rashad/Machida although I doubt it’ll be at UFC 100.
