Roy Nelson's Interesting Training Regimen

I should quickly point out, Heavy.com has not completely confirmed this, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. But because of the humor in this, I thought this should shared:

Speaking of Roy Nelson: the new Ultimate Fighter champion used the majority of his training camp to train other fighters. "He never worked out, never trained," said one source. "Roy would show up at various gyms and ask if anyone needed to be trained instead of working on his own game." Obviously, Nelson's decision to avoid training didn't hurt him during the fight against Brendan Schaub.

I don't know about about you, but I kind of found this pretty funny. If this is true, "Big Country" is definitely embracing his role as "Fat Guy." I'm not sure if he should be complimented for skating through a fight because he' talented, or if he should be scorned for not taking his MMA career seriously. I know some will argue that this will hurt Roy in the long run, but if it works for Roy, more power to him. I am not saying take this as a positive or negative, just take it as "Roy being Roy."

roy nelson training regimen uses whoppers, big macs, bob's big boy and

wendy’s hot and juicies. well maybe not the wendy’s part. roy nelson the only mma fighter who has no groupies.

yes i am obsessive, obnoxious, in your face and all about covering the spread. those are my good qualities.

Joe Rogan said..

During the finale, Joe Rogan mentioned his fitness and how “fat guys” can be in shape even though it seems an oxy-moron. I agree with Joe because if they guy eats more than normal the fat will accumulate but the muscles beneath will remain conditioned. There is NO WAY that he doesn’t train though. He seemed well conditioned against Brendan.

Roy trains more than he lets on. He’s sparring with Duffee and all those guys on the regular.
