TUF 10 Finale: Matt Mitrione Knocks Out Marcus Jones In Rd. 1

This fight was a 'grudge match' between two former NFL football players trying to make the transition over to MMA.

Well, it wasn't meant to be for "The Darkness" as Matt Mitrione survived being taken down early in the fight.  Mitrione was able to work back up to his feet and take advantage Marcus Jones lack of technique in the stand up department.  This was simply foreshadowing as to what would happen later in the fight.

Mitrione was able to get back up to his feet repeatedly after Jones scored take downs unlike the other TUF contestants.

Jones began to look visibly gassed toward the end of the first round.  As the first round started, Jones came forward with his chin up and tried to throw a combination but got caught with a big right hand that hurt him.  Then Mitrione landed one more for good measure and the referee called a stop to the fight.  Mitrione scores his first official UFC win via KO.
