Rampage Coming Back To The UFC

Former light heavyweight world champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (30-7)

Former light heavyweight world champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson (30-7)

Is Quinton Jackson coming back in early 2010? Sure looks that way. Michael Rome, reporting for our friends over at Bloody Elbow, broke this story and now Quinton wrote the following on his blog:

"Now, I wanted to let my fans know that I'm going to come back to the UFC & finish my contract. Not because the haters are talking shit about me being scared of Rashad or Titties or anybody else. I'm coming back for my fans & to shut Rashad's mouth up & shut Dana's mouth up. Then after that I'm going back to doing movies & I might do a boxing match once a year just to stay in shape. Hate on dis!"

I know many have written how they were furious at Quinton for delaying this fight by taking a role in a feature film instead of his December fight with rival coach Rashad Evans. It's looking more and more like, as several on here predicted, this fight wasn't canceled but was rather delayed. According to Rome, this fight could happen around Memorial Day. What are your thoughts on this? I can't help but be excited about seeing this fight.

Plus

I’m sure Quinton doesn’t want anymore legal troubles. Depending on how much restitution he has had to pay from his last set of legal troubles, I don’t know if he could afford a breach of contract battle against Zuffa.

And lol @ haters — that’s the last line of defense. It’s hard to imagine, but he entered TUF 10 as the likable coach in the minds of the people.

Bloody hell.

Talks trash and chickens out.

I have never really had any negative feelings toward Rampage…..until now. First, from what was shown on the Ultimate Fighter show, Rampage just showed up to get face time in front of a camera, talk trash to Rashad, and that’s about it. He did nothing to help these young guys who were counting on him as a coach. The whole time he would just say, “I’m not a coach.” Well then why in the hell did he accept the spot as a coach???? Those young men are there to try and get the dream that Rampage already has. He treated it as his own forum to talk trash to Rampage and the guys on his team suffered for that. He is where these guys want to be and whether he’s a coach or not, he has experience that he could share and you can’t tell me that he can’t roll with these guys so they could benefit from his experience but he sat there and watched. I realize that they only show limited amounts of time in the training areas but they showed enough and Rampage’s own words were enough to show that he did these guys absolutely no justice. They counted on him and he let them down. He’s a selfish prick and I have no respect for him, whatsoever. He acted just like Ken Shamrock did when he was a coach on Ultimate Fighter. Ken used it as his own forum to verbally attack Tito Ortiz. Well, we all saw what happened to him…..LOLOL He looked like he’d been put through a meat grinder by the time Tito was done with him. When I found out that Rampage postponed the fight with Rashad I wasn’t surprised one bit. In all actuality, I didn’t care much for Rashad before this show but he has shown that he cares about the guys he’s there to teach and he actually shared his experience with them. The end results show just how much Rampage shared with his guys……NOTHING!!!!!!!! Only one of his guys made it to the semi finals, Marcus Jones and I’m sure he did it with no help from Rampage.
I will say this though too, I’m not very impressed with all these ex pro football players. There was another one in previous shows but I expected them to at least have better cardio but these guys seem to get gassed quick.
Well, this is just my opinion on Rampage. I’m really not impressed with him one bit, and if he ever does finally step into the ring with Rashad, I hope Rashad stomps him into oblivion. I have a real problem with these guys, who are supposed be coaches, they accept the responsibility of coaching, they are supposed to share their experience with these young men who are trying to make their dreams come true, like the coaches dreams already have, and they show they’re just there for selfish reasons. I have no respect for that. I give an example of a good coach. I’ve never much cared for Matt Serra but he got in there and did his utmost best to coach his guys. Rampage proved he’s a selfish prick and he’s even showing he can talk trash, but for all that trash talk he did to Rashad, I figured he’d jump through hoops to make sure he was able to get in the octagon with Rashad but he’s done just the opposite. He took his chance to stay OUT of the octagon. I don’t have any respect for him.
