Jon Jones' appeal to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to overturn referee Steve Mazagatti's decision in his bout against Matt Hamill earlier this month has been denied. The NSAC stated that they don't overturn decisions and decided against ruling on the appeal.

Im willing to bet

they didn’t overturn it and make it a No Contest because Maz was the ref. Kizer knows it would just give Dana more to bitch about.

This is why I find the NSAC to be shady.

They won’t even look at this or overturn the Burns/Johnson eye poke fight, but when Nick Diaz test positive for Marijuana they have no problem changing the fight decision. Even though they didn’t overturn Barnett’s win over Couture, Sylvia’s win over McGee, or Nate Marquardt’s win over Ivan Salaverry; when all of them tested positive for steroids.

They seem to only want to put in the extra work to get things right when they feel like it. Also, the “We don’t overturn decisions” is a bunch of crap. They could if they want, they make all the rules. It’s like when baseball says they don’t want instant replay because human error is part of the game. In this stage in technology human error should play no role in any professional competition.

Way to pull a CSAC, NSAC.

But really, we shouldn’t be too surprised. They’ve claimed in the past that they don’t change decisions because in the end it doesn’t really do anything besides mess up the bookies. They’ve started overturning decisions based on substance abuse (it hasn’t always been this way), but like racebannon mentioned, it’s pretty retarded that they won’t look at stuff like this or Anthony Johnson’s eye-gouge.
