Strikeforce News: Fedor Emelienenko vs. Fabricio Werdum Likely In April On CBS

That's the word according to Scott Coker via MMAWeekly:

"It’s not confirmed... (but) on that fight card, you’ll most likely see Fedor fighting Fabricio (Werdum)," he revealed.

Of course the fight that everyone wants to see is Emelienenko vs. Alistair Overeem.  However, Overeem's management let it be known that he won't be fighting for Strikeforce until late 2010(if at all).  Werdum is coming off a decision win over Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, but is thought to have a miniscule chance of beating Emelianenko by most fans.  Werdum has improved his striking to go along with his very dangerous ground game, but his chin will quite possibly be his downfall.  What say you?

I hardly ever say that a fighter has no chance. But I just don’t see how Fabricio will wins this.

Bet your life savings on Fedor.

Bloody hell.

If Fabricio gets on top, he could get a submission. The guy has some pretty great BJJ.. but getting there will be the hard part, not to mention getting there without getting corked.

Best match-up they could do right now. Ubereem may never fight Fedor…But money talks

If anything, Werdum deserves the fight with Fedor, at least he is fighting in Strikeforce. Overeem needs to be stripped of his title, this is getting ridiculous.

Not ‘getting’, it was ridiculous a year ago… now it’s downright retarded.

Bloody hell.

Yep!

But that’s what happens when the contracts don’t have anything making them fight.

A man who got knocked out within the first 90 seconds of a fight just three fights ago probably shouldn’t be fighting Fedor.

I know I know, he’s only 4-1 in his last 5 fights, but I still see it ending quickly for him.

Yet another ratings bomb of a main event. Is it really so hard to understand that Fedor has zero mainstream appeal?

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't
help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

yea

they better ‘stack’ this one….dunno if they can surpass the last show’s ratings with this main event.
