Is Thiago Silva injured, too?
Bryan Alvarez throws in this little note in the latest edition of Figure Four Weekly (subscription required):
UFC 108 has Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva (rumors are that Silva has an ankle injury, but they are making it worth his while to fight through it -- this is unconfirmed, but given the UFC curse of late I wouldn't be surprised if it's true);

If Silva’s out, that’s it – they’ll have to pull the plug on 108 if they can’t arrange some way to air it Fight Night style. It’s such a far cry from UFC 92 already that it will make you bite your knuckles and stare straight ahead with an anguished look if you compare them side by side, and without this relatively weak main event it will take a severe hit to it’s already low drawing power.
Bloody hell.
I think he'll fight
If it’s a sprain…he’s got 2 weeks for it to halfway heal.

Guys fight injured all the time, as long as it’s nothing severe there is no excuse to pull out of fights seems alot of fighters now adays aren’t toughing it out and are taking the easy way out.
define injured
if your hurt your hurt…they’re professionals at the end of the day and no one wants an L on their resume i’d imagine (monetary gain or not). id rather cards took the hit if guys cant fight above 80%. there’s no point in having silva v evans if silva cant be some way competitive, especially when it has future title implications. i like silva and dislike evans so i dont want to see him drop a loss to evans if he cant bring everytjing he has to offer to the evans. yes, fighters do and should fight even if their hurting BUT imo that should be cut-off below 80% capacity

There was a time when pulling out of fights was basicaly unherd of. I’m just wondering if its turning into the fact that they don’t get paid a whole lot of money and the fighters are saying it’s not worth it. For them to step into the cage and fight (not being in the best shape or not at 100%) and risk getting a lose and or maybe cut from the organization for a 8k pay cheque. I realize that the figters make more then that but some are less. But when you look at there top fighters like say GSP he made 400k plus ppv royalities prob put him around the 1-1.5mil mark maybe im way off. But you know what I’m getting at. Theres just so much to lose for them to fight injured but like they say money talks and bullshit walks
Yea
I think guys getting cut after two losses….is really influencing guys to want to fight at their best…
