Countdown To UFC 105 Airs Tonight At 11pm On Spike TV
I wrote earlier questioning the promotion of the upcoming UFC 105 event. I repeatedly searched the UFC website this morning for any information about a Countdown To UFC 105 show only to find nothing scheduled for tonight. Well, lo and behold I just went back a couple of minutes ago and look what was on the front page.

i'll be watching it
i’m putting my money on couture now. vera has the problem of not being focused for a fight. randy might be 46 years old but he is always focused for his fights and that’s why he will win.

While there's some truth in that
I think Vera will finally shine in this one.

don't count the old man out yet. i like b. vera to but the "truth" is randy is going to wrestle him
to the ground and vera is going to get frustrated and randy wins 30-27. 30 -27 and 29-28 b/c there is always some bonehead judge that gets it wrong.

thanks for the info Kelvin. i would not have know this was on tonight if i hadn’t read it here. to many other sites are to busy trying to shove fedor down everyones gullet. lol. it was a great showing by him and he deserved his accolades, but it’s monday now and it will most likely be another 10 months to a year before he fights again. i think 105 has the potential to be another great free night of fights and you never know when it will be randy’s last.

I really hope this isn't Randy's last fight.
He never fails to bring his best to the cage, even if it doesn’t always get him the W. He’s never boring. Also, he’s a hometown guy for me so I almost have to root for him. :)
Actually, I don’t think this will be Randy’s last fight. I think he beats Vera. He’s the naturally bigger, stronger fighter. Sure, they both fought at HW, but Couture was much more effective at that weight class. Couture’s better in the clinch and better on the ground.
I could be wrong, but I believe Vera has the reach advantage. Therefore, it would make sense for him to use the jab, keep things at a distance and keep using the leg kick. If he can take Randy’s base away from him, then he might be able to at least get top position and get some cowboy time.
I still don’t see the killer instinct in Vera that he seemed to have earlier in his career. Couture’s seen and beaten tougher fighters than Vera. Based on his last great performance against Nog, I see no reason why Randy won’t get the decision here again.
Yes! Yes! In the face!

Vera definitely will have a reach advantage…about 3 inches…..I think Vera’s wrestling is comparable to Couture’s…they just use it differently…of course Couture will want to close the distance and get it to the ground where he can grind Vera down for a decision win…if Vera can keep it standing…it’s a wrap.
