The two things i learned from the mma fight 10/07/09
Fedor did have a great victory but he had problems when he was up against the cage. He did not seem to know what to do. B. Rogers should have unloaded a barrage of punches and knees and he probably could have won the fight. There is no doubt in my mind lesnar would destroy Fedor if they ever fought in a cage. Brock lesnar would just use his wrestling abilities to take him down and move his body and head so it's right up against the cage. Then the ground and pound commences. It would be bloody and i would expect at the least a broken nose and broken orbital bone. i think Fedor's handlers must have seen how bad Fedor was against the cage. I now have doubts the fight would ever happen. The Mousasi fight was interesting. the usual fast start for sokodguo but in the second round Mousasi found his groove and put soko on the ground on pounded him out for the win. Did you all see who was there to shake his hand, Dan Henderson. The first fight was good between Fabricio Werdum an Antonio Silva. It went back and forth and Werdum got the decision. The major disappointment of the night was Jason Miller and Jake Shields. It almost put me to sleep. J. Shield's won the decision. I can't wait till next free one on spike. Peace

Dan Henderson trains and is a trainer at Team Quest, not unlike Sokoudjou. Henderson was in his corner, and traditionally corners shake hands and/or acknowledge eachother and the opposing fighter after the fight.

I see Fedor as the # 1 guy in that weight class and would have him as the favorite against Lesnar. But one point of interest: Both guys were 4-1 through their first five professional fights. I wouldn’t argue right now that Lesnar is # 1 in the heavyweight class (I have him # 2). But I would argue that he has already shown himself to be world class and that he has a lot of ability and potential. I’m not sure of another fighter that impressed so much throughout his first five fights.

i saw both fights and lesnar just toyed and battered herring for entire 3 rounds. fedor won his fight but i think lesnar did much more damge to herring. did heath herring ever fight after that fight with lesnar?

you agree with me when i say b. rogers should have thrown some bombs at fedor's
face and knee him more when he had him up against the cage? i think he could have beaten him down and won. when it got to the middle of the ring in the cage it’s no different then a boxing ring and he connected with the big punch. the key was keeping him against the cage. he looked bewildered to me (fedor did) just my observation. peace.

He was fighting at a higher level, the competition just wasn’t where it was today, IMO.

amount of damage not an issue
Fedor and Lesnar are two different beasts. Fedor is so laid back and calm while Lesnar is a pit bull at Mike Vick’s mansion. How many fights has Fedor won from the bottom, or after taking a few KTFO hits? He is more of a reactive fighter who is trying to win the fight whether it be arm bar, choke, nut twist, Bruce Lee two inch punch, etc… while Lesnar is just trying to beat the living day lights out of you. Tough to call who would win… the patriot in me says go with Lesnar, but if I were to wager money: Fedor. He hasn’t fought anybody credible in a while but he is still the heavyweight to beat. Where is Rocky Balboa?
My dad told me when I was 8 years old, "Never hit a man while he is down... it so much easier to kick him!!!!"
