Report: Ben Rothwell vs. Mirko Cro Cop At UFC 110 In Australia
According to Sherdog:
Mirko Filipovic and Ben Rothwell have been scheduled to meet Feb. 21 in Sydney, Australia, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the bout.
Of course, Rothwell is coming off his destruction at the hands of Cain Velasquez at UFC 104, and Mirko is coming off a one-sided beating at the hands and umm knees of Junior dos Santos at UFC 103. I'm interested in this bout, what say you?

I saw that a bit ago...
But it’s kindof funny that the word on the street for Cro Cop goes from retirement (among other things) to nothing to Ben Rothwell. I think it’s a good fight, although Rothwell will probably put him on his back for a UD, but it makes me wonder why ol’ Mirko is taking the fight.

Yo
Mirko came out last month and said he wanted to finish his UFC contract….I suppose that’s why he’s taking the fight.

Rothwell looked like crap against Cain (even though that’s not hard to do against a good wrestler) and Mirko didn’t look absolutely terrible against JDS….should be interesting, if Mirko’s on his stalk-game he should be able to put Rothwell away Arlovski style

Ya know
I was kind of thinking along those lines…I wonder if Rothwell would stand with Mirko the whole time…if so it would definitely be interesting.

Should be interesting to see where Cro Cop’s head is. It seems since Gabriel Gonzaga sent him to talk to his ancestors, he’s come back a fraction of the fighter he was… and this isn’t my quote – I forget who said it, but, “it’s as though the fighter spirit of Cro Cop left him and entered Marius Zaromskis.”
If Cro Cop is tentative, Ben Rothwell might just capitalize and score himself a nice victory. If he’s too slow, however, this might end quickly. If Cro Cop is even half the killer we remember when he enters the cage that night, and if Rothwell is as slow as he usually is, that’s a recipe for a really bad head kick KO.
