At this point, this is best for him. I thought he was in the big leagues too early. It probably would of been better for Zuffa not to fold WEC middleweight division.

This surprises me a lot. I’m not a fan of the guy but he has a lot of potential. Perhaps the UFC want him to gain some experience elsewhere before bringing him back.

Potential, yes but he isn’t even close to realizing that potential at this point in time. The level of competition in the UFC is simply too much too soon. The style of fighter that he is doesn’t lend itself to rapid technique improvement so having him mature at the top level of competition is just too unrealistic.

This is why the UFC needs a small show like WEC to grow new talent. And by grow, I’m not talking about fattening up the 145 dudes to 155, I mean somewhere that you can feed guys like Rosholt some scrubs. If he entered the UFC today, after the kind of development he had in the past year or so, he probably wouldn’t have been in this position.
Also, feeding Rosholt to Dan Miller in his first big-time fight? Yowza.

He does have a glaring hole in his game — it makes Lesnar’s ability to learn on the job seem pretty amazing in perspective.
Bloody hell.

That
and it helps that most HW’s are not adept at BJJ….lol.

Yeah but he beat Mir – on the ground at that – and made him look completely helpless.
Bloody hell.

and got subbed by him as well…. got subbed by the only BJJ practitioner he faced.
Rosholt fights pretty much like Lesnar does. Its just that guys in his division are quicker than the heavyweights. Lesnar makes just as many mistakes as Rosholt, Koscheck and other great wrestlers turned mma fighters. I just think the HW division allows you to get away with mistakes easier than the lighter weight classes.

Bloody hell.

got to diagree a little
The speed is comparable. Yes the middleweights are quicker, but that also means rosholt is quicker than lesnar. 3PA also mentioned lesnar’s ability to learn as well which has been impressive. Even Mir commented how well Lesnar controlled his hips on the ground.
But yes, Lesnar has not faced nogueira or werdum or the other big bjj fighters.
