"You know Shogun wasn't the only one robbed that night. So what If I lost the first round by a small margin, all that meant is there were still two rounds up for grabs, my shoulders were just loosening up at the beginning of the second round - the real fight was just getting started. Look, I don't want to make this sound like I'm taking anything away from Cain, he's a great fighter, probably one of the best in the heavy weight division at the moment. I just feel like I've been working my entire career to get this shot in the UFC, only to have it taken away from me by an incompetent referee. Losing is one thing but to have such a big opportunity taken from you? I'm disgusted."

“So what If I lost the first round by a small margin”
The first round was a one-sided beatdown. It was a premature stoppage, but it was in no way close before that.

dude get over it……wrestlers dominate MMA and you got taken down with ease and your face pounded in. You were not defending yourself when he was pounding away in the 2nd round and thats why they stopped it

First round was 10-8 when I scored it live as well as when I rewatched it… yeah the stoppage was poor so he has a certain right to complain about it, but more because he was deprived of his right to lose like a man to robbed of his chance to win the fight.
Bloody hell.

word
it was an early stoppage…but his attitude like he was just about to win is laughable.

That’s how I see it too. He got teabag’d the first round, and the second round wasn’t going much better. Sure, it was a weird stoppage, but he should be glad he only got a seven minute ass-whuppin’ instead of a 15 minute one.

This pretty much right in line with his excuse for losing to Arlovski, that he had too much respect for him. In truth, he was completely outclassed by Arlovski. Ben, you’re just top ten fighter that that MMA websites claimed you were.

Let's not forget
That between rounds Steve Mazzagatti told him up front that he wouldn’t be allowed to keep taking shots like Round 1. Sure, the timing was horrendous, but it’s not like Rothwell wasn’t given prior notice that the threshold was lowered.
