UFC 110: Stevenson vs. Sotiropoulos in the works

MMAMania.com reports that

Lightweights Joe Stevenson and George Sotiropoulos are currently in negotiations to collide at UFC 110 from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia, on Feb. 21, 2010.

Bout agreements have been distributed to both fighters; however, nothing is official at this time. The good news is that MMAmania.com has learned that Sotiropoulos is eager to sign on the dotted line as soon as possible so he can compete in front of his hometown crowd for the first time ever as a UFC fighter.

And he'll likely have to do it against his stiffest competition to date.

This should prove to be a well needed assessment of where Sotiropoulos' future in the division lies. Will he become a legitimate contender eventually and how does he match up here first of all, what say you?

Not sure that’s the right fight in temrs of progression for either of them, but it will probably be exciting to watch.

Bloody hell.

:( two of my favorite fighters. I felt terrible for George when he got KO’d by Speer. He would have been a much more worthy opponent for Danzig in the finals imo.

With that said, I think this will be too big of a step to climb for George. Stevenson is great on the ground and should win like he did against Fisher.
