Recapping with Carolina Fight Promotions - An Intro To Southern MMA
It is no secret that Las Vegas is the mixed martial arts hotbed in the nation. Slowly but surely the sport is both growing in popularity and becoming legal in more states. Carolina Fight Promotions has set itself out to be THE promotion that represents Southern MMA.

Doug Muhle has a love of the sport. He is trained in Brazilian Jui Jitsu and competed in the 2008 Pan-Am Games earning a gold medal. Muhle realized that the South needed mixed martial arts and worked with North Carolina legislatures to legalize mma in his state. After many meetings, the law changed and mma became legal.
Carolina Fight Promotions knows that putting on a good show is an absolute must for it to be successful. Everything they do is top-notch from the sound system, the lights, instant replay and more. The quality is what sets them above all of their competition.
On Saturday October 24, Carolina Fight Promotions will host their seventh event, "Carolina Crown 2". The night will feature seven amateur fights and eight professional fights. The "Carolina Crown" is considered to be the Superbowl of Southern MMA. Scheduled for the main event of "Carolina Crown 2" is a fight between former "Ultimate Fighter" contestants Vinny Magalhaes and Lance Evans. Also scheduled to make an appearance is UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie.

The biggest complaint I hear about the smaller shows is they put events on same night as the UFC. But with that said, you can tivo a UFC event, you can’t tivo a local show. Nothing like spending 4-5 hours at a local show watching talent develop and then going home and spending another 3 hours watching a UFC card. I’ve done that for the last two.
