Updated: Josh Koscheck Will Fight Anthony Johnson In The Co-Main Event At UFC 106

Josh Koscheck releases the news via his twitter account:

I got some big fight news for me. I am fighting nov 21 in Vegas. Co main event!!! Haha it's on baby!!!!

Koscheck was originally scheduled to fight in a pretty worthless fight(for him anyways) at UFN 20 in January. However, it appears that he'll have a new opponent for UFC 106. Could it be Anthony Johnson?

[Note by Kelvin Hunt, 10/28/09 8:12 AM EDT ]Yessir. According to Sherdog, Josh Koscheck will take on Anthony Johnson in the co-main event at UFC 106. Koscheck is coming off a first round destruction of Frank Trigg, and Johnson is coming off a first round destruction of Yoshiyuki Yoshida. Ironcially, Koscheck beat Yoshida in much the same fashion. Props to both guys for accepting this fight on short notice and boosting the event just a bit.

AJ would be dope but after killing himself to make weight I do not think his gas tank is there the 1st round would be exciting tho. I would like to see is jake sheilds:(

kos is one dude the ufc can count on ALOT. i used to not be able to stand this guy, but he has earned my respect, bigtime.

the ufc calls his number on short notice time and time again. That being said Kos begs the ufc to let him fight every 3 months. I respect the guy alot

I worte that I thought a Koscheck vs. Daley would be worthy of a co-main event status. Looks like it could possibly happen, though might be Koscheck vs. Hughes.

Anthony Johnson, Koscheck Official! Who ever wins this, should get GSP. This is the true number one contender match.

How is Johnson a number one contender?
He’s too wet behind the ears to go up against Koscheck.

Koscheck is game to fight and super-prepared to step into the Octagon. He definitely deserves the opportunity. I don’t think he views any of these match-ups as worthless. He didn’t really have a problem facing the unknown Paulo Thiago or Yoshiyuki Yoshida. I’m not sure how he will fare against GSP. Koscheck definitely gets respect but I really think the GSP he faced was an older version. This new GSP is at least version 3.

All in all, this is great news!

All I know is that he looks and acts like a bonafide douche (I have a hard time crediting someone like that with intelligence, I’m pretty damn biased though lol). I hope AJ knocks his Krusty the clown-lookin’ ass out.

ya a lot of people hate him so much, i dont know what it is but i find him kind of amusing! maybe he appeals to the immaturity within me. he seems harmless in a non-competive sense ;)
