"It’s time to celebrate the win and relax from the hard training routine. After that I will check what happened to my hand (it’s hurt), if it needs some surgery, then analyze my mistakes in this fight carefully with my family to restart my training routine. No matter who is my next opponent, I’ll give some rest to my mind and body and return 100 percent to the training to get ready for my next challenge. If it’s Shogun again, I’ll study his game and make a different strategy to please the fans with a better fight."
"I thought it was a very even and tough fight. I had the opportunity to see the fight again and I thought I won four rounds and Shogun took the last one. Some people say he won the fourth and fifth round, but for sure I won at least the first three rounds. The American commentators were pretty much biased. If you see the fight without audio, you will probably see a different fight."Shogun was a great opponent and had a nice strategy. He deserves all my respect as a fighter, but I was superior. I had three or four chances to finish the fight, and he never put me in danger. I didn’t get (dazed) at any moment of the fight, but I put him in danger three or four times. He kicked my legs a couple of times, but he wouldn’t knock me out with that.
My leg started to hurt in the fifth round, and I was very upset that I couldn’t knock him out as I had planned. I had two chances where I felt him really (dazed), but I lost it and I get really upset when I leave the decision in the judges’ hands... Anyone who has a mouth can talk. I respect his opinion and I’m ready to fight Shogun or any other challenger UFC decides, but I would like to say that this fight was not judged by myself, my father or Anderson Silva. This fight was judged by professionals, so I’m pretty much comfortable with the result.

4 Rounds?
Wow…I don’t think he ever really had Shogun hurt…I mean he flurried and all with Shogun against the cage…but Shogun stayed in the pocket and was firing back…then started coming forward immediately after the exchanges…

Superior is a very, VERY poor choice of word.
Kind of annoyed to see him play on the whole leg kicks-sentiment expressed by the judges, he should know better (if not there’s a plethora of leg kick related TKO .gifs readíly available on that there “internet”).
Saying he won 4 rounds is ridiculous to me, but I’ll give him a pass for that one as mixed martial artists are programmed to think close rounds went their way.
Bloody hell.
I wonder
how long this injury is going to keep him out of action?

Hopefully not too long so we can crown the rightful LHW champion as fast as possible :)
Bloody hell.
That's the thing
I wonder how a re-match would go…I have my thoughts…but I didn’t want to keep on talking about that subject the entire week…lol.

Both guys will probably attack more… Machida learned that he can’t solely rely on his counter-ability and Shogun learned that you can’t trust the judges to make the right decision.
Bloody hell.
HA HA HA!!!
Forget YOUR OPINION, forget what everybody else thinks.
If Lyoto feels he was superior, well then he feels he was superior.
I like this quote! I love that Lyoto Machida is strongly defending his performance.

And I don’t love it… see what we both did there? Expressed opinions.
Bloody hell.

Substantiated opinions based on logic are generally self-validated.
Good one 3PA!
Note, that quote was directed towards Dana White’s view on the main event victor. That wasn’t really clear out of context. ;-)

pretty smooth words two days after the fight
of course he was not injured. randy couture said he can’t not walk right for three weeks after pedro rizzo hit him with numerous leg shots. rua leg kicks might not have been quite as strong but there were more of them and in better spots. he sure had his head down before the decision was read. yes the american commentators joe rogan and goldberg were incredibly biased in that fight just like the judges were for him. i lost alot of respect for machida a guy who said honor means soo much to him. it you saw the preview special and he was on his dad small island to train b/c he was being bothered by too many fans they kind of made him look like the karate kid ralph machio(close enough) in the karate kid movies. i’m talking about the portion of the tape where he was by himself and he was doing those slow arm movements and kicks. i could not help but think of that movie. i think what machida needs is pat morita to train him for the second fight. remember the real karate kid did not lose in the finals.
