Will You Purchase UFC 106 With Carwin/Lesnar Off The Card?

Of course we all know that the main event for UFC 106 in Shane Carwin vs. Brock Lesnar has been re-scheduled for UFC 108(although the UFC hasn't officially confirmed this).  Now, the main event for UFC 106 will be Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin, which is a re-match from UFC 59 in which Tito Ortiz won a razor close decision in a pretty good fight.  There are talks of another fight being added to this card as the co-main event, but nothing official has been announced yet.  Personally, I'd like to see the Thiago Alves vs. Jon Fitch fight moved from UFC 107 to this card, as it's only a 3 week difference and both haven't fought since UFC 100 anyways.  The ppv buyrate for this card will be down tremendously now, but I still think it will fair well with Ortiz making his return to the cage.  Plus, there are some other very good fights on this card.  Check it:

-Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz

-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Luiz Cane

-Karo Parisyan vs. Dustin Hazelett

-Amir Sadollah vs. Phil Baroni

-Ben Saunders vs. Marcus Davis

-Kendall Grove vs. Jake Rosholt

-George Sotiropoulos vs. Jason Dent

-Brock Larson vs. Brian Foster

-Paulo Thiago vs. Jake Volkmann

-Caol Uno vs. Fabricio Camoes

That's a ten fight card right there, but the UFC events of late have featured around 11 fights.  So it's possible they could add one more fight to this card.  If so, what fight would it be?

I think they need a stronger co-ME draw-wise than Fitch/Alves 2.

Bloody hell.

Oh and

I would buy every UFC card regardless if I had to pay for them (and I mean there’s still high quality fights on this one).

Bloody hell.

Alas I can’t think of any fight right now :(

Bloody hell.

by 3PA on Oct 27, 2009 9:45 AM EDT up reply actions

I couldn't either

which is why I went with Fitch/Alves….it’s the only fight that

A. Would be dope
B. Is close enough to UFC 106 so moving it wouldn’t matter much
C. Alves and Fitch both fought on UFC 100…they aren’t big PPV draws…but a lot of folk know who they are.

It’s probably the best solution available. Maybe Mir/Kongo? I’m highly unsure that fight would be dope though, Fitch/Alves is a stylistic match-up that almost promises action.

Bloody hell.

by 3PA on Oct 27, 2009 9:56 AM EDT up reply actions

lol

I think Fitch/Alves is the best option…Mir can talk up a storm, so that fight would serve as a great co-main event for UFC 107.

velasquez v someone?

its a hopeless longshot, but whilst saying that he is virtually unscathed after 104. the problem is do you feed him a can? kind of hard after giving him rothwell & congo but would he or an opponent dos santos/gonzaga/duffee/buentello step up and fight on such short notice? probably not…*here’s hoping though (",) *

they could move the duffe/buentelo fight up from 107 to fill the hw void. i think i remember gilbert yvel being sanctioned to fight in vegas. duffee/yvel would be crazy.

yvel

dude i completely forgot he was in the frame, isn’t he like a free agent?! he’d be a nice aquisition by the ufc! again tho, i really feel most fighters will shy from the short notice. id say its immeasurably harder to fight a dude after an insufficient camp

I’m super pissed! I just spent 2200.00 bucks for me and the wife to fly from alberta to watch the lesnar carwin fight now i feel like ive been robbed. theres no way they will get a co main event that will mean anything. who would take a fight with such short notice. they better have free beer at the fight they owe it to me. i say mir vs kongo or gonzaga vs dos santos. kimbo said he’d fight anytime maybe kimbo vs herring

you are being robbed

and deserve a nice replacement fight, not just move forrest/tito and cane/lil nog to the main and co-main. i would bitch and ask for a discount. don’t know what good it would do, but you paid for a championship fight, the hw championship. i have a feeling dana will opull something out of his ass, or his hometown fans in vegas are going to be pissed.

AA coming back to the UFC

Would be a cool addition to the card.

AA could fight anybody, helll he’s been in training (kinda) for months for either a boxing match or mma. i can’t see why dana wouldn’t want him back, unless he’s asking for too much. they need to get HENDO signed as well. give him his signing bonus. :)

We're still looking at the trip as a positive. We're going to vegas how can that be a bad thing. And seeing my first live ufc which still isnt that bad but the whole reason for going is to see the hw title fight and now the card is redused to a card i wouldnt even spend 50 on ppv. but who knows dana might pull one out of the ol poop shoot so i'll just have to wait and see. cheers

i read that gonzaga might be fighting dos santos on the jan card. any truth? if silva fights befort, lesnar and carwin, evens and thiago silva what a stacked f@%king card man

by scotts99 on Oct 27, 2009 1:36 PM EDT reply actions
