Updated: Shane Carwin Says Bout With Brock Lesnar Re-scheduled For Jan. 2nd

UFC heavyweight Shane Carwin

Shane Carwin's Twitter:

I just heard from Jason. Looks like it is posponed till Jan 2. I had h1ni myself and I understand how devastaing it can be.

Well, the good news is that the fight will still happen.  As I mentioned earlier, there's no sense in Brock half training and then possibly losing.  Also, this fight will now be the main event for UFC 108, which didn't officially have a main event with the Anderson Silva debacle going on.  The only question now is what will be the main event for UFC 106...Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin 2?

[Note by Kelvin Hunt, 10/26/09 10:42 PM EDT ]According to UFC.com, Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin 2 will serve as the main event.  I think they may try to get another bout to serve as the co-main event.  I think it would be dope if they would move the Jon Fitch vs. Thiago Alves fight from UFC 107 to UFC 106 to serve this purpose.

Good that at least for all his simple-mindedness he’s at least not tryna see anything personal in it. Carwin +1 in my book.

Bloody hell.

Good news. That’s not a very long postponement.

Two fights that could help sort out the HW division right now.

Junior Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez

The Battle of the Prospects right here. This would be a serious test for both; 1) Cain’s main weakness seems to be the striking 2) Junior hasn’t really faced a wrestler the caliber of Cain

Shane Carwin vs. Minotauro Nogueira

This is a another fight catering to a key issue with each fighter: 1) Can Nog take the punishment against someone with the power of Carwin and if yes 2) Will Carwin tire out?

Bloody hell.

I love the dos Santos/Velasquez match up….Carwin/Nogueira would make sense also…but I have my heart set on Nogueira/Lesnar damn it!
