Dana White Says Negotiations Are Done With Dan Henderson Because He's Asking For An Obscene Amount Of Money

While I can see Hollywood gaining some leverage with his brutal KO of Bisping at a blockbuster PPV, I don’t think he’s as big a draw as he himself thinks or that he essential in the grand scheme of things. Don’t get me wrong; losing a top 5 fighter is bad but it’s more managable when it’s a 39 yo grizzled veteran as opposed to a likable up-and-comer.

From the payrolls I’ve seen I’d say Hollywood has been treated fairly.

Bloody hell.

Yea

Losing him will not hurt the UFC…basically because he’s old…got destroyed by Anderson Silva, and will cause Strikeforce(or whoever is footing the bill a bit of money).

There’s an obscene amount on money being made on the fighters so it makes sense that some of the more well known guys demand it.

Being “well-known” and a draw aren’t always tied together. Hendo just doesn’t generate the numbers to warrant a higher salary. I thought he was overpaid on his last contract, I’d probably laugh in his face if I was the UFC rep being presented with his new demands.

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't
help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Yea

Zuffa makes a ton of money…but also re-invests huge amounts back into the sport with expansion as well as lobbying efforts to get it approved in non sanctioned places…so it’s not clear just how profitable they are…not to mention those figures are never released…

True. Nothing’s ever released. This obscene amount, that obscene amount. This payoff to “the family”…that payoff. :)

This video is old. Since then, Dan said he would be fighting in the UFC when its all said and done.

This video was shot on this past Friday…I know Hendo said he wanted to stay with the UFC…they still need to come to terms on an agreement though…which they haven’t been able to do yet…
