Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira Close To Signing With UFC

Alexandre "Cacareco" Ferreira

That's the word according to the famed Chute Boxe leader Rudimar Fedrigo.  Ferreira comments on his goal:

"My first goal is to be on the event, that’s the bigger of the world, where the better athletes are. Then, my second goal is the belt. The negotiations are moving, the results are coming".

Rudimar Fedrigo gives his thoughts:

"Cacareco, efficient as always, showed his champion’s spirit. He was hit at first, but could recover. Cacareco will bother a lot of people when he gets in UFC. It’s almost signed", bets Rudimar. "He’s going to win, that our focus. As everyone, he has his right to want to be a champion and we’ll work for it".

Ferreira has been fighting since 1998 and has a career record of (18-6) with an astounding 17 wins coming via submission.  So I think it's safe to say that he's a submission expert.  He has fought in promotions such as the IFL, Jungle Fight, Hook N Shoot, and Rings.  However, there are a couple of things that stick out to me about Ferreira.  He's fought primarily as a light heavyweight, but only stands at 5'7" tall,  so that could pose some problems for him.  Also, he hasn't really fought any top opposition throughout his lengthy career.  He does have a decision win over Heath Herring way back in 1999.  If you glance through the fight records of his opponents, most of them are .500 fighters, guys that were early in their career, or slightly below .500 fighters.  The pic shown is the only decent picture I could find of him.  He looks like he could possibly make 185, and may have to do so if he wants to be competitive in the UFC.

here are the moneylines for ufc 104

machida -400 rua +330 that went down from three days ago. rothwell +240 velasquez -280, fisher +200 stevenson -240. yoshida + 260 johnson -320, sonnen +190 okami -220 schafer +350 bader -430. the one that stands out for me is fisher. i’m putting 100 dollars on him and rothwell. if just one wins i win at least 100 dollars. i’m goig to round robin 4 fights. a round robin is different than a parlay in that if you lose just one out of four on a parley you lose the whole ticket. on a round robin you can have 3 out 4 fights four times so you can lose one and still make money and if two or three big underdogs come in you will make alot of money. peace.
