Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva Set For UFC 108
According to MMAMania:
Rashad Evans and Brazilian Thiago Silva (14-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet in the co-main event of UFC 108.
Bout agreements are expected to be finalized shortly.
Oh where art thou Rampage? Actually, Thiago Silva and Rashad Evans were rumored to be facing one another last year, but that bout never came to fruition because of Silva injuring his back. This fight could be entertaining, but I don't think it's a good move considering that both fighters have recently gotten destroyed by the current light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida. However, this fight is the UFC scrambling to find an opponent for Evans since Rampage Jackson decided to throw away an entire season of TUF that was promoting a fight with Rashad Evans. This fight will be one part of a rumored trifecta of main events that the UFC generally does for it's end of year show.(technically it'll be the beginning of the year, but you know what I mean). This fight card could have Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort as the main event with Dan Henderson vs. Nate Marquardt on the card if Henderson re-signs with the UFC.

I hope Rashad
a) isn’t gunshy because of his TKO loss to Machida
b) utilizes his wrestling in this fight if he has to (which he probably will IMO)
Bloody hell.

I'm telling you
Thiago’s hands looked crisp his last outing.
Bloody hell.

Do you guys think that Greg Jason learned anything from Silva fighting Jardine?

Short fights must a bit of a nightmare when it comes to scouting
But I heard Thiago had a really bad weight cut for the Machida fight so it would probably be wise to watch his fight with Jardine over and over and draw what conclusions you can from it.
Bloody hell.

You could also watch the Mendes fight Mendes was having the better of the exchange until Silva got the TD if Shad could maybe pepper him with some powerful Head kicks then get the TD with some GnP I think Shad could beat Silva but I think Silva might actually get the W….

thiago silva is a quality opponent for rashad evans
i still like evans to win this fight with his superior wrestling ability. here is a question mr. hunt might know. why won’t the ufc bring in chris horodezki. they brought in a couple of other guys from the ifl. horodezki did something in a fight i have never seen before. he threw three leg kicks to the head of his opponent in i would say 4 or 5 seconds. he knocked the guy out with the third one. there was 2 seconds left in that round. it was in the ifl. can’t remeber opponent but it impressed me alot. saw his name on the affliction roster once. said he was injured. affliction is gone so do you know where he went? he was a young kid when he was in the ifl and i would want to see him fight some 155 guys in the ufc. any info? ramble on.

Hmm
I dunno why they didn’t bring him over when they took over those Affliction contracts….I don’t know he would survive in the UFC LW shark tank of bigger wrestlers though…

i think he would be at least competitive with fighters outside of the top five at lightweight.
he was always entertaining to watch in every fight i saw and he was just a kid when he was with the ifl. if anybody else knows any info i would like to know. peace out.

He's a free agent
so there’s no telling where he’ll end up.

Re: Horodecki
Erik Owings KO (Head Kick) IFL – Championship 2006 6/3/2006 1 4:00; I think that is the bout you are referring to. I liked the kid as well and wonder what is next for him. He had a bulging disc in his neck; reason for not fighting Dan Lauzon @ Affliction 2. He has been training under Team Tompkins since he was 13. He is training in Canada with the likes of Sam Stout. With a record of 13-1, I think he would fare pretty well with the 155 UFC guys. He has mad skills. I loved the IFL and IMO the penalty for non aggression was a key factor in helping their fighters evolve. Hopefully we will hear something soon. He is a young buck!

Re: Rashad vs Silva
I think this is a great match-up. I give Rashad a slight edge because of his quickness and ability to evade the punches. I will be looking forward to this even though I am still bitter Rampage is out. arggg
