Chris Horodecki On The Way To The WEC?

Chris Horodecki

Chris Horodecki

That's the word according to his long time trainer Shawn Hopkins as he spoke with Fighthype:

"It looks like Chris Horodecki will be showing up in the WEC.  We are really close to solidifying the rumor and within the next day or so, I should be able to tell you for sure".

Of course Horodecki was a standout in the now defunct IFL organization becoming one of it's more recognizable fighters.  Horodecki was originally supposed to fight on the last Affliction card that never came to fruition.  However, he was able to pick up a fight in the Ultimate Chaos organization submitting William Sriyapai via rear naked choke in the first round.  Horodecki comes from a kickboxing background, so him in the WEC lightweight division could be fireworks.  Do you think Horodecki can contend for the WEC lightweight championship?

I hope he can.

I really want to see how this guy does against better competition.
He also suffered one of the most brutal beatings i have seen when Shultz beat him in the IFL.

True, that Schultz beatdown was humbling for him I bet.

He was being pumped up as ‘the Next Big Thing’, but as soon as they put him in against a savvy vet, he was dismantled. I also think he received preferential treatment in the IFL with his opponents (Thompkins selected them all) and with the judging and reffing. I can remember some terrible stand-ups that went Chris’s way. IFL’s poster boy for sure.

that would be sweet. he would make a nice addition to the lw or the fw division.

He’s young, he has got lots of time to contiune to develop his skills. He’ll be a contender

where he’s belonged this entire time.

I think he should drop to FW immediately. He is not a big Lw at all.

Great addition for the WEC.

Chris was racking up pro wins as a teenager. That’s insane. Glad to see him potentially joining the WEC.

he still looks like a teenager. he probably gets pulled over for driving. lol. i’m also sure he’s jacked a few jaws to some unsuspecting ass-holes as well. :-)

i was just talking about this about 5 days ago. i would love it

only guy i ever saw throw three kicks to the face and head with the third one knocking the guy out in the ifl. he would make a great featherweight if that is what he is going to do. i hope this turns out to be true.

I think this is a good move. There’s plenty of competition at FW if he takes that route…which would probably be best for him.

Contend? Give it some time.

Good move for Chris...

But I don’t see him lasting in WEC’s 155 division very long. He should drop to 145, but even then, they will have to hand-pick his opponents for now, as I don’t think Horodecki is physically strong enough to deal with the Faber’s and the Mike Brown’s of the world.

I say give him Cub Swanson and see what he is made of…. because the ‘competition’ he had in the IFL was quite pathetic. He is young, but still has a long way to go before he makes any noise for Zuffa, IMO
