Report: King Mo Signs With Strikeforce
From Sherdog:
Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal has signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and could make his promotional debut as early as December, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.
Lawal has signed on to compete in the light heavyweight division, said the source. The deal allows the undefeated Lawal, a NCAA Div. 1 All-American wrestling champion for Oklahoma State in 2003 and decorated international competitor, to continue competing on the Japanese circuit.
We did a poll here after King Mo dismantled Mark Kerr in his last fight. We had 42% of you saying that he should sign with Strikeforce, with another 43% saying he should sign with the UFC. I think it's a win/win deal for both parties, except I don't know how smart it is to allow King Mo to continue fighting in Japan while under contract with Strikeforce.

Mo has some serious raw talent… Mousasi being vastly more experienced would win if they fought today (probably via sub) but I think they’re bound to clash in a not too distant future when Mo has, let’s say two more fights to his name.
Bloody hell.

Hoestly
I’m not impressed by this guy. I honestly don’t get all the hype behind him either. He hasn’t beaten anyone good. I would take Keith Jardine or Jon Jones over this guy any day.
Goofy entrances don’t and wins over third, fourth and fifth rate competition doesn’t make you a good fighter.

I could easily be without the entrances and the douchebag persona, but I think he has shown promise against the aforementioned third, fourth, fifth-rate competition… hey, sometimes you can see that a guy has talent when he’s sparring or doing drills.
Bloody hell.

Yo
I think Jon Jones is a better prospect simply because of his camp and more well roundedness. Lawal has some skills though….

Jon Jones has outwordly talent
So saying he’s the better prospect isn’t saying much about where Lawal is at lol
Bloody hell.

You shouldn’t be impressed… at this point. The guy is a prospect right now, albeit a somewhat high profile prospect. Feeding him to Mousasi his first fight out would be a little silly, because he needs to grow like any other fighter. I mean come on, he’s only had five pro fights!

!["It's going to take a lot of time," he said. "I have to take it step by step. I cannot put so many pounds on in a short time. First, I will be a small heavyweight, and slowly I want to put more pounds on. It will take two, three years before I'm a solid heavyweight."
"They wanted me to sign for six fights," Mousasi said of the original deal. "I didn't want that. They didn't pay me that much. But money will come. I want to grow with Strikeforce as they grow with Showtime and CBS. I think it's a good place to be.
"If I had it in my mind, like OK, I'm going to the UFC, then I would have gone. But I have a new contract with DREAM, so I'm planning to stay busy and fight in Strikeforce and Japan constantly."
"I don't want to fight for too long," he said. "(At) 30, I'm finished. In my mind, (I just want) the amount of money that [would give me] a good life. Anymore than that, I don't need.
